At this point Stephon is definitely a backup, however you're not being honest with yourself if you don't admit that the guy will be a better backup this coming year than he was last season. He will have KG back in the lineup, Sheed added to the mix, and will know the plays better. He will have another training camp under his belt with hopefully some added work in the gym shooting jumpers to regain his confidence. There is no WAY the guy won't be a better version than last season, and compared to Gabe, or anyone else that is available at that price you aren't going to find better value for the dollar. He will not ever be what he was in his prime, however he will be much closer than what we saw the last few games of the season.
All you guys refuting this were the ones that were making these same arguments for bringing back Sam Cassell last year. The difference was Sam was really old and more concerned with getting his than running the second unit. Marbury showed us last season he was looking for his teammates first.
