while i welcome marbury back and he wold fill a huge void at point..if they use what you said they will use...sign or signing and trading baby is of epic proportions. lose baby and they have 2 holes for bigs to fill...

i would prefer to resign baby
sign steph
add a big on the cheap

I'd rather give Marbury the 1.3 million qualifying offer and save the LLE.

my only fear if he comes back, is if he starts with the talk about contracts/money.  if he starts with that talk, we will see the marbury that has earned the reputation of being a cancer to a team.

Gabe is just years away from being even a competent back-up. He could develop, but we have a window of contention and just can't afford to gamble..

Pardon me while I throw up.  It this is true, it's a terrible move that Ainge will regret.

Honestly, how?  If Marbury really becomes that big of a problem, they can cut him.

I don't understand all the hate for a back-up pg. It's not like we just traded Rondo and Ray Allen for him. He's coming here for basically nothing..

I'm stealing this one from the book of ACF....Co-sign.

http://nes247.com/

don't know how legit this site is, but I saw it posted on realgm.

If this is true the roster would be pretty much set for next year besides the BBD/ PF situation off the bench.

PG: Rondo    / Marbury
SG: Ray      / House
SF: PP       / Daniels
PF: KG       / BBD(Hopefully)
 C: Perk     / Sheed

That is definitely a championship roster and possibly the best starting 5 and bench in the league.

i was hoping to keep the LLE for another big...and now this means that a sign and trade for daniels has to happen

And then what?  If you sign Marbury, it means you passed on all of the better alternatives that are out there.  By the time Marbury finishes stinking it up again, the good veteran backups will have signed elsewhere. It's called opportunity cost. If you do one thing, it precludes other moves.

This is really interesting - as mediocre as Starbury was last year, he's bound to be much less rusty and better with the offense with a full season under his belt, and he's absolutely the most talented backup PG we could possibly get with the LLE.  Starbury + BBD coming back gives one of the best and most versatile benches in the league - talk about a turnaround there.

But I'll wait to see if this is reported in a more reputable source first.  And I still think Starbury + Sheed is just begging for the karmic smackdown of the decade.

IF they resign baby....

a bench of
marbury
eddie
daniels
baby
sheed....is pretty darn good...better than a lot of starting 5s

No he won't.  That's a completely unwarranted assumption.  He's a year older, and he's not the kind of player who shoots 500 free throws a day. He's more likely to be worse, not better.

If you flip a coin and it comes up heads ten times in a row, you had better look at the coin, beacause it's coming up heads the next time, too.
