Why are posters calling for Kurt Thomas? Danny has said he is hes done signing big men. Also, Thomas looked washed up last year in the play offs for San Antonio. He was a non factor out there on the court. At this point in his career both Powe and Davis are more effective than Thomas.

If we can sign Delonte West and Matt Barnes I would be thrilled.

Now that Posey is a Hornet the only trade scenario that works is highly unlikely:

Perkins, Davis, Pruitt, Scalabrine and Powe for Artest

According to Hoopsworld's Bill Ingram the Boston Celtics are talking to the Sacramento Kings about SF-Ron Artest.  Word is that Danny Ainge offered James Posey before "Pose" accepted the Hornets offer.

Is this Ingram guy any more reliable than celticsthug? serious question.

When did he say that?

Thomas looked fine as a backup C for SA.  Plays good defense.  Can hit an open jumper.

Why else do you think SA is trying to resign him?

Fantastic question Jonny Rondo ;D !  Maybe CT34 will chime in with more information on the status of Ryan Gomes as well as fill us in on the earlier story reported by Bill Ingram at HOOPSWORLD????

DA has said he isn't going after any more big men. Right now we need a backup wing and PG. We have young players at both of those positions so I hope we can bring in some vets to solidify the roster.

House/West and Barnes/Gomes would make my dreams come true.

In the conference finals Thomas averaged 3.8 ppg  and 1.8 rpg. I remember watching that series and thinking "Wow Thomas is just about done. It was not completely about match ups and playing time either. Thomas looked apathetic and lost. The whole Thomas is a good defender is blown way out of proportion, I honestly can not tell you how many times I was watching the play offs and saw players just blow right by his ancient feet. Please, just say no to Kurt Thomas. This guy is not getting any younger.

I don't think so.  I am pretty sure he was the one who said Posey was on his way to the C's a few days ago.

I think the C's could put together a deal to match Artests contract by signing and trading Allen...but its not likely.  I think Sacramento is looking to get something more than Allen, Scalabrine, and Giddens for Artest.

Is Bonzi Wells available?  He would fit the role of a defensive 3/4 who can hit the three.  He is getting on in years and lacking a ring, maybe we can get him to buy into the short contract thing?

Plan B sounds like a way of spending 0 dollars in new free agents and hoping that a tall SF that can't play D(Scalabrine) will step up after how many years in the NBA? Tony Allen I can see helping, but he can't be the BENCH. We need more players. Look away from Childress and go for Matt Barnes. Hell, Danny Ainge is even looking at Darius Miles. We'll see how that goes...
Can't stop, Rondo!

Split the MLE between Kurt Thomas and Bonzi...

Sign Marbury for the vet minimum
