Let's get Zinger tested for Lymes disease

A friend thought he might have long Covid. Anyone know if he ever got Covid? At this point most of us have probably caught it at least once since it's endemic.

I give him credit.  He is clearly suffering from something but he is going out there and doing what he can.  We are still a good team even with him playing no better than Kornet (if that lately).  I think he is still clearly better than Queta or Tillman or whoever else would need to play so he is helping the team some.  But we are so much harder to beat when he is playing how he can play.  He has been that good a lot for the team, there has been plenty of opportunity to see the difference he can make.

In the playoffs last year, he was limping around on an ankle that required surgical repair.  And even with the bad ankle, he was better than what we are seeing lately when he actually does play.  I have no idea what could be going on.  I am sure the best Doctors in the world have been consulted on this and it appears they can't figure it out.

Yeah, I'm thinking it's long Covid as well and since the team reported the original illness as non-Covid, it's led to some confusing reporting in the present. Tatum had a case of that for a bit too, remember he was taking inhalers regularly.

If playing 15 minutes per game makes him available every game let?s roll with that.

Or at least plan the game around that.   If he is feeling good during the game and it is helping the team to play him more, that is a good bonus.

To me, it?s not just about the minutes and him running out of gas.  If it were, I would still expect him to start.  He?s just looked really bad out there and I?m sure Mazzulla believes Al gives them a better chance to win than the current state KP is in

Yes - Al is their best center. The only thing I?d consider if I?m Joe (at the moment) would be whether to start Luke and hopefully keep Al?s minutes to 30 or less (and have him fresh for end of game).

Hopefully KP gets healthy and back to himself, though it?s feeling unlikely.

I think this is why you manage Al during the regular season.  Last year he played 65 games and 1740 minutes.  This year, he played in 60 games and 1659 minutes.

Idk about Jrue/Jaylen/Hauser and others, but I'm sorry Porzingis HAS to go this offseason

Yeah, I can't hate too much on KP - Joe wouldn't be bringing him off the bench and restricting his minutes if he was good and healthy.  The man is clearly not ok, but he's out there anyway trying to do what he can, and I respect that.

My bigger issue is with Joe's coaching, combined with the fact that Jrue looks like he's cooked, White somehow forgot how to play defence, and JB suddenly has Kendrick Perkins' hands.

Seems like he has long Covid. Pretty sure Kp is trying, but has no energy. I don?t think it?s a lack of effort, he?s just not well.

Yeh.  No one drops off that precipitously without a reason.  Something?s up.  But regardless of the reason, Joe clearly did the right thing in sitting him the 2nd half.
Yup

If you need him to just eat up about 10 minutes to give Horford/Kornet some rest (or when they have foul trouble), fine. That's it. I think he's cooked anyways for this next month given his illness.
