It's frustrating to see him leave the game, but at the same time haven't we all tried to work through an illness only to go in and end up taking the rest of the day off?

I totally get that. But I feel like it's just a bad impression/look that you had a whole week off and suddenly an illness struck you, and it's not the first time Kristaps was sitting out with 'illness' concerns this season.

I just had another thought.  Porzingis was 2-17 from 3 vs. ORL.  Turns out he has some mysterious illness.  Now the whole teams shoots 25% from 3 in the first game vs. NYK.

Oh no, the whole team must have caught this mysterious illness that diminishes your ability to shoot 3s.  We could be in big trouble!

Love Porzingus but really can?t depend on him year after year..Horford is 38-39 so need find a big for next season but with our cap that?s gotta be hard
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

If even your 38-39 year old Center is more dependable (in terms of availability) than you then there's a problem lol

Is Porzingis doing all he can to be available? Because idk, he missed nearly a month with illness, and now Mazzulla is even saying he doesn't know what specifically ails KP but it could be something from March. So is it something actually serious? Or even if it's something small like something he ate, again, is he doing everything he can to help and stay ready? We had nearly a week off after the Orlando series.

I agree with a poster above, I loved Chris Sale but his lack of availability a lot of times due to both injuries and other weird things (like "belly button infection" in the 2018 playoffs or his bike accident in 2022) was frustrating. KP is kind of like Sale in that regard.

I really like  porzingis the person and how much he has embraced and loves being a Celtic which makes it harder for me to say...i don?t want him on this team after this year. Completely unreliable and if we are all being honest with ourselves, we won last years title without him and he?s had very little impact on this years team other then being the token excuse we lose in games he misses?..even though we are better without him.

The silver lining of Porzingis missing so many games for the Celtics is that the team might get a huge discount on his next deal.

Given how deep the team is in luxury tax, getting Porzingis on a huge discount could help the team keep an additional star player going forward.

Sale was so frustrating his last few years in Boston. And of course, as soon as he gets shipped out of Boston he wins the NL Cy Young. If Boston cuts ties with Zinger after this season, he'll probably be MVP next year.

Yeah but then immediately as the postseason begins for Atlanta last year, Sale gets hurt and misses the whole postseason. Phenomenal timing :P

If he can play rest of this Series, play him in second half only

KP is a guy we all hope will do well here as he brings personality, intelligence, and unique skills to the table.  But at the moment he might be our third best center.  If the reason for his troubled performance in these playoffs is illness, I think there?s not much choice but to reduce his court time or keep him off the court entirely till he?s better. Not knowing the illness and how it manifests, it?s impossible for any of us to know what?s right.   I?m comfortable that the Cs have the personnel to beat NY without him. Doubtful v Cleveland or OKC.

Seems unfair to question work ethic when we don?t know what?s he?s dealing with.

Right, talking about his chronic inavailability is fine.. but questioning his attitude is just crazy. Dude probably wants to win and shut people up more than anyone.

Unlike last year I don't think the C's can win the title without him playing a major role.

He's set to make $31M next year and we've all heard how much Brad has always loved Jrue. KP is going to need to be assertive and make a plea to the front office if he wants to stay. Offer to sign something ridiculous like a 3yr/$30M extension ($10M/yr).

Unless we move Jaylen, one of KP or Jrue is likely out this summer. KP needs to make his case for why he should be the one they keep. He loves it here, but I'm not sure he loves it enough to take a massive paycut.
