So the team has nearly a week of rest, then Porzingis comes out with an atrocious 1st half, then doesn't play the 2nd half due to illness?? What illness did he pick up in the game?? And this is after he basically had a dud in the first round.

The guy isn't hurt but still isn't reliable in terms of being available in the playoffs. Hate to say but if this keeps up I'm gonna sour on him

Like we managed to win it all without him for most of the run last year but that 1000% isn't gonna happen again this year.

Yes we went 15-60 from 3 today but idk, could have used Porzingis in the 2nd half and OT if you ask me. It sounds like from reports though he was just chilling in the locker room. Was it really that bad that he couldn't come out for some minutes? I'm curious if we'll hear more about his illness in the postgame pressers.

The idea that he was just "chilling" in the locker room, and wasn't being held back for a VERY serious reason, is one of the more unhinged things I've read here.

Finger crossed for KP...whatever it is.

Like KP but I am tired of him. He cannot stay healthy. He now gets "sick" every few weeks. And when he plays he's terrible.

He has done nothing in these playoffs.

Chilling is a bit strong, I agree, but reporters said he was in the locker room and that was true even in the 4th + OT. Was it a super serious thing, and is it something to worry about long term? He missed a handful of games this season with "illness" too. Mazzulla just said postgame he wasn't sure what was up with Porzingis and that he "hopes he's ready for Game 2". Weird.

He caught an illness in the middle of a game? I would understand if you blow an ACL, get concussed, or get a high ankle sprain and not return.

But an illness? Was he coughing? Did he suddenly find out that he was coughing? Food poisoning? If food poisoning, he should have experienced it earlier in the day and spoke up about it.

Kristaps can't be relied on for the future. He can come off the bench if he wants or get traded, but we need another big who can contribute right away.

Doc Rivers used to say "the best ability is availability".

As the C's try to get under the 2nd apron in the next year or two - I am more than ok with them trading away Kristaps and keeping True.

I have never been comfortable with his line drive 3 point shot technique and he is the opposite of a beast near the rim - even Luke is getting tougher in the paint compared to KP.

More important to have Al and Luke return next year than KP, in my humble opinion.

He has been a non factor for the Celtics in the most important times...the playoffs. Last year showed flashes and then got hurt multiple times.

This season he has been just bad in the playoffs. Bullied by Orlando. Played soft last night until he was pulled because he was sick all of the sudden.

You see what he can be but then it just goes away so fast for whatever reason.

Like everyone, I'm going to throw out a guess.  Maybe he was feeling bad, sick or whatever before the game started and decided to give it a shot.  Obviously, it didn't work and he looked bad and apparently felt really bad at the half break.  I give the guy a pass and hope he is feeling better for the next game.

What ever he is dealing with, that the team is calling a non-COVID illness, has been going on a while.  He was not up to par in the ORL series either and missed a bunch of time in the regular season with this same "non-COVID illness".

Based on what I have seen from Porzingis, I don't think he is soft or milking this.  He has been very competitive, but he does get hurt a lot and apparently has really hard time getting over this illness.  Whatever it is, I believe it is real.  I think he wants to be out there.

I hate to say it but I was wondering if he is dealing with some form of anxiety or depression or something like that.  That type of illness can be every bit as real as a sprained ankle or the flu.  That type of illness is just harder for most of us to understand.

KP is giving me Chris Sale vibes.

Both won a title with Boston. Both were fabulous when healthy. Both were/are rarely healthy.

Yup.....and if he had the flu or something communicable, you don't want him near the other players.

The last thing we need is a team wide illness.

what kind if illness just comes from no where without any signs, seems very off to me, I honestly think he didn't feel right physically and mentally, he did an interview with abby chin before the game, like dude was all smiles 20 mins before. anyways, I seen stranger things happen. I am extremley worried about him, not only do we have to worry about him getting hurt physically we have to worry about if he's sick as well, its too much he will for sure be part of the trim next year when they are looking to save $$$ this guy is making 35 million not 10 million like Horford.

The injuries/illnesses are frustrating, but I'd rather have him on the roster than not.  It was the right trade when it happened, and it's the right deal now.  I'll probably vote against re-signing him, but when he is playing, we are much stronger.

Sounds like diarrhea to me.  But who knows.  Not a whole lot of transparency on this.

It's frustrating to see him leave the game, but at the same time haven't we all tried to work through an illness only to go in and end up taking the rest of the day off?
