Frontrunner = OKC
Contenders = MEM, SAS, GSW
Good Playoffs Teams = DAL, HOU, MIN, PHX, DEN
Borderline Playoff Teams = LAC, LAL, SAC
Lotto = POR, UTA, NOP

LAC are a question mark. Middling team if Kawhi isn't healthy which he probably won't be. A good playoff team if he is healthy.

Don?t be surprise if Horford, Porzingus or Holliday is traded
I was just thinking maybe Holliday for Middleton? Because of contract length difference, the Celtics would have to add pick{s}. Washington certainly can't be interested in keeping Middleton.

Middleton is washed...
Holiday may also be washed but his contract is not up for 3 more seasons. Middleton is up after next year. Middleton is shooting 51 FG% and 41 3P%. He is averaging 12.6 points in 23 minutes.

If you trade Jrue for Middleton then say goodbye to our championship aspirations. That would be a horrible deal and a potential locker room problem. If we really wanna trade Jrue, do it in the off season.
Yep.  Trading Jrue would be idiotic.  The focus should be on winning the 2nd straight championship which this team should be favored to do.

Mostly agree. Houston to me is a contender. Golden State though I only consider good.

I don't think Houston have enough offense come playoff time. Or a genuine go-to guy. I think their offense will choke under the pressure of the playoffs.

That is why I am not buying them.

Butler also extended for 2 years $121 million 🤮. Man, I just don?t see it. Does anyone really see this vaulting them to a true contender status and able to make it out of the rough West, let alone take on the C?s when meeting us in the Finals? That?s a lot of old, injury prone guys to rely on.

Must be nice having a super, super rich owner.

It's a last hurrah for Steph. 2 years to see if they can do something. As in Steph can do something without being trapped every single game. All those big contracts end in 2 years.

Personally I doubt it, but if it doesn't work out then in 2 years the rebuild will start for them.

Think you're underrating the Lakers. They would fit into the "Good Playoffs Team" bracket, especially now that they acquired the best offensive player in the world and playing next to one of the most complete basketball players of all time. They're also 2 games behind the #3 seed in the West

How is SAS a contender?

It's a panic trade. Durant didn't want to go GSW and I don't think they had many realistic options. Butler is only marginally better than Wiggins and I'd argue this season alone Wiggins has been better (partially because he's available and engaged unlike Butler the last few months)

I still wonder what happens with KD now. That feels like the next domino
Definitely, or you could call it the last shot at salvaging something from the Steph era, plus  fannies in the seats of the new arena. That said, I agree this doesn?t put them over the top.

I bet KD stays put now.

I don't think they have the supporting cast around Luka & LeBron to be a title contender. It will be interesting to see if they can make 1-2 more moves before the deadline. They need to.

I am a big fan of their team after acquiring D Fox.

I love the Fox & Wemby combo. I think they are one of the better 1-2 punches in the league. I also like Devin Vassell as the 3rd option. One of the stronger Big 3s in the league. A very good supporting cast around them beyond that too with H Barnes, Sochan, Keldon Johnson, CP3, Champagnie.

The Warriors are trading out Andrew Wiggins, Dennis Schroder, Kyle Anderson, Lindy Waters III and a protected first round pick for Butler and Josh Richardson. The pick is top-10 protected in 2025 and 2026, then unprotected in 2027 if it doesn't convey.

Lindy Waters III is a nice extra piece for Miami.

Quote
Schroder will be routed to the Utah Jazz. Additionally, PJ Tucker will be traded by the Jazz to the Heat.

Schroder is a nice pickup for nothing for Utah.

A loss for Miami. One quality rotation piece less.

Utah has an abundance of guards. Sexton and Clarkson must be on their way our.

Lonzo Ball and the Chicago Bulls have agreed to a two-year, $20 million contract extension. The Bulls received trade interest in Ball, but he reached agreement on a new deal that will run through the 26-27 season.

Quote
Ball is averaging 7.2 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 21.3 minutes after missing the entire 22-23 and 23-24 season with multiple surgeries following his torn meniscus in January 2022.

Ball first joined the Bulls in 2021 from the New Orleans Pelicans on a four-year, $85 million sign-and-trade.

Future Celtic Walker Kessler has looked really good so far this 1st quarter vs GSW  :angel:

I think Jimmy is getting underrated.

The guy is still a stud.

He is putting up 17ppg in only 30.6mpg. He is shooting 54% from the field. He is getting 6.4 FTAs per game on 10.5 FGAs. Phenomenal number of FTAs / FGAs. His strong FG% and high number of FTs means he is still a super efficient scorer at 63.8% TS%.

He is averaging 4.8 assists per game to only 1.2 turnovers. A 4:1 AST:TOV ratio. That is a phenomenal figure for a PG nevermind a wing player. Another 5.2 rebounds per game. Again in just 30 minutes a night. Still a very good defensive player.

He is a major difference maker.

This is the best co-star Steph has had since Durant 4-5 years ago. He hasn't had an All-Star caliber teammate since then. Klay post-injury wasn't an All-Star caliber guy. Neither was Draymond was had declined. Jimmy Butler is still an All-Star caliber talent.
