OKC are building a Celtic stopper team. Early look says this will be your Finals matchup. The Tatum leap will be the difference.

It would be an epic finals match up if OKC can get there!

He'll be their 4th power forward? I guess he's going to play the center spot. I always liked him. NBA journeyman.

Free agent sharpshooter Isaiah Joe has agreed to a new four-year, $48 million deal to return to the Oklahoma City Thunder, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium . Joe joined OKC after being waived by the 76ers in 2022, and now earns a long-term contract.

Probably a good comp for Hauser.

The Oklahoma City Thunder and free agent F Aaron Wiggins have agreed to a new five-year, $47 million deal. After OKC declined his $2M team option, Wiggins receives $45M in new money, with a significant raise next season. Thunder lock in a key rotation piece long-term.

Agreed. Good comp for Hauser although I would say Hauser is more valuable than either of them because of his superior size at 6-8.

So I would say as a comparison this is like a baseline number. Maybe baseline + 20% is the more likely range for Hauser.

Hartenstein to the Thunder: 3 year, $87 million.

That's a big contract.

I think it is fair. About $30mil. Similar to Jaden McDaniels in Minnesota or Jerami Grant in Portland. Hartenstein is a similar value player.

A couple of backup centers have agreed to 2 years, $10 million (Drummond, Eubanks).  Is Tillman going to get more or less than that?

How about GTJ as bench depth?

For us, or another team?

I think he's good value at sub-$12 million per season, but we can't come close to offering that.

Man, that is shocking. Denver should go after him as their replacement for KCP.

Good player.

Tobias Harris to Detroit...gross

Really gross.

"Tobias Harris and the Detroit Pistons agreed to a two-year, $52 million contract after leaving the Philadelphia 76ers, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski."

They're going to have a whole lot of hollow point scoring with him and Hardaway if they get minutes!
Yup

I like it. It helps give the team a bit more balance.

I did not like the idea as first when I saw them linked with T Harris yesterday but it grew on me as the day went on. I was going to make a post about last night but gave up. The reason I liked it was because they need an offensive minded forward. Someone who can shoot and spread the court. Their two young forwards Ron Holland & Ausar Thompson are too limited in terms of perimeter shooting. Tobias Harris will be a good complement to them and make things easier for them on the court.

G: Jaden Ivey, Marcus Sasser
G: Cade Cunningham, Timmy Hardaway
F: Ron Holland, Fontecchio
F: Tobias Harris, Ausar Thompson
C: Jalen Duren, Isaiah Stewart

T Harris is a good upgrade there in the forward slots. It allows everyone else to play in a more comfortable role. To have better team balance / team cohesiveness. It will allow those young frontcourt players to grow & develop in more appropriate roles for their stage of development.

That team could actually be watchable next year. 1st time in years DET has been watchable. Maybe since Blake Griffin was healthy and playing well there.

Clarification = I don't mean good. I mean watchable. As in not a complete eye-sore. You can actually sit down and watch them play and not want to throw up.

That?s the taxpayer MLE, correct?  I think that?s around his value.  I?ve been hoping the Celtics would be able to keep him for 4 years, $22 million.

He gets back a starting role and plays for Pop. Not bad for a sunset gig.
