Indiana is sending two 2024 first-rounders and a 2026 first to the Raptors, sources said. New Orleans sends a second-round pick to Indiana.

BREAKING: The Indiana Pacers are finalizing a trade to acquire All-Star F Pascal Siakam in a deal that will send Bruce Brown, Jordan Nwora and three first-round picks to the Toronto Raptors. New Orleans will be a third team in deal, sending Kira Lewis to the Raptors.

Indiana still needs to send out $5 million more in salary, with that player presumably going to New Orleans.

Yes, if NOP is sending out Lewis and a Second, they must be getting something back.  Nesmith?  Unless this is a salary dump for them?

In any case, if this is how the trade stands, IND has too many PFs or combo PF/C.  I am going to continue to hope they trade one to the Celtics

Siakam will turn 30 just before the playoffs begin. Early April. So this next contract will be his last major deal and take him into his mid-30s.

Bit older than I thought.

That's awful for his family and the organisation. 46 is quite young for a heart attack.

It sure is. Probably had some preexisting conditions.

Condolences to his family and organization.

Does Siakam make that much of a difference?

Indiana is already #1 in offensive rating.

Siakam is an improvement for them defensively. They are 26th in defensive efficiency and poor defensively at the PF spot he'll be taking. That said, Siakam is a good but not great defender. He is similar to Jaylen Brown. Capable of playing strong one-on-one D but often drifts on team D and makes mistakes. He is not a game-changing defender. A good cog in the machine but not more than that.

Nor is Siakam a great rebounder. More of an average rebounder. Usually around 7 rebounds a game. Okay but not great. Especially for someone with his size, length and athleticism. Doesn't get many steals or blocks either.

Scores efficiently in the paint but is otherwise a poor shooter who hurts spacing. Main offensive advantage is his passing and handles. Indiana already have Haliburton for that. I'm not sure how much he'll really add to that their offense. Has a habit of ball-stopping / stagnating the offense as well to setup his drives.

Jalen Green looks like he should be a star. He moves like he is a star. He is confident like he is a star.

But he just ... isn't.

I am wondering the same thing, does Siakam even bump them up to top 4 in the east?  I am not sure.

I do think that JB's def this year has gotten better, he is more aggressive on close outs, has his head on a swivel more, just more into def in every way this year.  more blocks, more disruptive.  I think Brown is better on def than Siakam.

Interesting matchup lakers and mavs on espn if you the Celtics game gets real ugly. I expect a lot of points with reaves, Irving, Russell and doncic all trying to guard each other

Jaden Ivey has been on a tear with Cade Cunningham being out. Another 32pts tonight. Averaging 23ppg over his last 5 games. Around 6apg and 5rpg as well.

Georges Niang went for 33pts on 13-14 FGA off the bench. That'll swing a game.

Gary Trent Jr had a huge game for Toronto as well. 8-9 from 3.
