Lillard had 45 points on 12-22 FGA and 16-16 FTA. 45pts on 30 possessions. He only had 1 assist and 11 turnovers. Super efficient night from Lillard.

Toronto starting Trent Jr. Must be bringing Bruce Brown off the bench. Interesting matchup with Raps vs Knicks after their trade.

G: Quickley
G: Trent Jr
F: RJ Barrett
F: S Barnes
C: J Porter (is that his name?)

It was interesting to see who they chose as that fifth starter. Ther was talk of Trent Jr or Bruce Brown. Also Schroder with Quickley moving to SG.

Jokic = 25ppg 12rpg 9apg

It is insane. 12 rebounds and 9 assists a night. It doesn't even make sense. 65% TS%.
Is it really insane in the modern era?

Jokic         25.7ppg   11.9rpg   9.1apg   1.1spg  0.9bpg   65.3 TS%
Sabonis     20.1ppg   12.6rpg   8.0apg   0.8spg  0.6bpg   65.0 TS%
Embiid      35.1ppg    11.4rpg   5.9apg   1.2spg  1.9bpg   65.1 TS%

What might qualify as insane is that Embiid, unlike Jokic and Sabonis, is putting up those offensive numbers while also being a high-level defender.

8 assists a game for Sabonis is crazy.

That's 11 assists and 1 turnover.

Haha, yes.

Good game going between OKC and Minny. OKC jumped out to a 21-5 lead but Minny have come roaring back and now lead 43-39. A 38-18 run.

SGA is in dominant form. Jaylen Williams playing very well also for OKC.

The crazier part is that the Kings +/- with Sabonis on court is -0.6 and off court is 0.9.  Sabonis's netrtg is -0.9.  So simplistically the Kings are better with him not playing.  Embiid and Jokic are of course at the top of the league in +/- and netrtg.

The top of the West is going to be a bloodbath. That top 4 of Minny, OKC, Denver, and LAC is really good.

I think OKC still has a year or two of development before they're truly there, and they need some playoff experience - and heartbreaks - before I think they can really get to that level. As for Minny, I think we still have to see how the big lineup fares in the playoffs, as Gobert has a long history of being played off the court in the playoffs.

But, man, would that be a heck of a second round in the West if all four of those teams advanced. Though I'd like to see Minny/OKC and Denver/LAC pairings, which I think are better balanced matchups.

Maxey has a better on/off differential per 100 than Embiid at 8.5 vs. 8.4.  Giannis is 8.9.  Jokic is an astronomical 17.8.  Kawhi is at 13.2 and George is at 12.5 for the Clippers.  Gobert is 13.7 and Ant Man is 11.5.  Tatum is way down this year at 3.9 with White leading the C's at 11.2.

Man, that was a nice move by Sengun. He was in the corner dribble right towards middle then quick spin move baseline to beat his man off the bounce. I think that was Utah's SF that was defending him on switch. Still beat him off the dribble. Crafty handles.

Sengun with another nice move with a quick drive off the catch from the elbow area to beat Kessler to the basket to draw the foul.

Kessler is a big body down low. What a presence around the basket. Just eats up space inside.

Is Maxey/Embiid the best combo in the NBA today?  Given the season is only half over, I'm surprised that they've already set the record for most 30+ point games together for center/guard combos.  It is more amazing because Embiid has only played in 30 games due to injury.  So in 8 of the 30 games they've played together Embiid and Maxey have both scored 30+ points.

Embiid and Maxey finished with 30 or more points in the same game for the eighth time this season. According to OptaStats, that's the most 30-plus point games by a center/guard combo in a single season in NBA history.

the fact that Shaq and Kobe never did that is astonishing to me.
Me too.  Looking at other stories, I'm not sure but I think it may just be a Sixers franchise record not NBA record.  Haven't been able to figure out how many times Kobe/Shaq did it.

Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal both scored 30 or more in the same game 10 times in 2000-01, 12 times in 2002-03.

He got screwed on at least 2 whistles.

First play of the game was an awful call.

I figured it out. the original stat said PG-C combo but when MSN picked it up they dropped the point and just said guard.  Poor journalism.
