Is Maxey/Embiid the best combo in the NBA today?  Given the season is only half over, I'm surprised that they've already set the record for most 30+ point games together for center/guard combos.  It is more amazing because Embiid has only played in 30 games due to injury.  So in 8 of the 30 games they've played together Embiid and Maxey have both scored 30+ points.
Quote
Embiid and Maxey finished with 30 or more points in the same game for the eighth time this season. According to OptaStats, that's the most 30-plus point games by a center/guard combo in a single season in NBA history.

the fact that Shaq and Kobe never did that is astonishing to me.
Me too.  Looking at other stories, I'm not sure but I think it may just be a Sixers franchise record not NBA record.  Haven't been able to figure out how many times Kobe/Shaq did it.

https://twitter.com/ESPNStatsInfo/status/1628954345717788676?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1628954345717788676%7Ctwgr%5E2e89c30517b4c9b7110c0f843a71c35e4ecad1a8%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fclutchpoints.com%2Fceltics-news-jayson-tatum-jaylen-brown-approaching-shaq-kobe-status-with-latest-feat

Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal both scored 30 or more in the same game 10 times in 2000-01, 12 times in 2002-03.
So Tatum/Brown and Embiid/Maxey are both on pace to blow away the Kobe/Shaq record.  Looks like Giannis/Lillard have done it 6 times so could have 3 combos break it in a single season.

Teams are averaging 115.5 ppg already and the 2nd half of the season especially after the all-star game break the defensive effort really drops off.

Clippers finishing the half against Brooklyn with a no big man lineup.

C: PG13
F: Kawhi
F: Harden
G: T Mann
G: Westbrook

Strange lineup. The interior looks wide open on defense.

Cleveland has won 7 straight and are not far behind MIL/PHI. They are a team to watch for.

Magic meanwhile have fallen off.

Clippers 2nd unit

G: Westbrook
G: Norm Powell
F: Harden
F: PG13
C: Theis

Not a bad 2nd unit.

Cam Johnson has been a disappointment for me this season. I thought he would have a big year as the Nets 2nd or 3rd option. I was expecting 17ppg 6rpg 4apg. Instead he is giving them 14ppg 4.5rpg 2.5apg.

Nets were up 114-103 with 5:30 left in the game.

Clippers won 125-114. Nets went scoreless for the last 5:30 minutes. Clippers had a 22-0 run over that period to win. What a collapse.

It's still absolutely laughable to me that some here actually wanted us to trade Jaylen (or Smart + multiple additional assets/picks) for Ben Simmons. He is definitely just gonna get his remaining contract money and then retire and/or dip to another country. He just sits there on the sidelines looking like a doofus and clearly isn't in a rush to comeback. The Nets HC (Vaughn) has repeatedly questioned his work ethic as well. He really has been a bust. I would absolutely loathe having him on my team, almost as much as I did Kyrie. Loser player, loser attitude. Shaq was 100% right about him.

every lottery pick outside of Embid has kind of been a disaster for the 76ers. Noel and Okafor were out of the league by like 27. Fultz obviously a terrible number 1. Saric has been underwhelming overall. Then Simmons is yikes… kind of crazy the 76ers are this good despite all those picks and losing butler.

His shot attempts have fallen down compared to the start of the season now that they’re healthy. Cam Thomas, Lonnie Walker, Dinwiddie, Bridges, DFS…they’re all chuckers. I think they’ll trade one or two of these guys come deadline.

Is Jimmy Butler falling off?

He just doesn't seem the same when I have seen him of late. I not even sure he is still Miami's best player. Bam has been important when I have seen them.

His lunchpail for this season is still in the mail. Hard to perform at your peak when USPS can't get your grit and grind to you on schedule.
