76ers are putting a beatdown on the Rockets right now. 66-47 at the half.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Rockets offense is just atrocious. It’s like they don’t even run plays.

A poorly coached team. I don't get the praise for Ime this season. The Rockets improved a ton just by their roster moves and by not tanking epically like they did last season trying to land Wembanyama.

Also Sengun growing from one of the worst defensive big men in the league to a competent defensive center. Allowing them to field quality defensive units this season.

Thanks to Ime's coaching.

Yeah - Houston might be .500 but they've got one of the top defenses in that league with a decidedly average roster. That has to reflect well on Ime and his staff.

They added Dillon Brooks, VanVleet, and Reggie Bullock this summer. Those three guys plus no longer tanking explain the improvement in defense than anything else. It's much easier for a guy like Sengun to be effective on defense when your not surrounded by a bunch of offensive minded young guys who have no interest in defending and just want to inflate their scoring numbers.

Rockets defense has not been good of late. I think they will be out of the top 10 after todays loss.

The roster is a big part of it, for sure, but I am not sure that adding Brooks, VV, and Bullock explains the entire swing from being 29/30 in Def Rtg last season to 6/30 this season.

edit for Goldstar: it's possible, but unlikely, that this makes them dip that much. Was still an absolute thrashing though. Not disputing that.

ESPN has Houston at #10 currently. The game today ended up being closer as the 76ers pulled their starters about halfway through the 4th Q. Wondering if the Rockets poor offense is starting to dictate their defensive effort.

He looked pretty bad today but obviously one of the worst matchups in league for him.

How the heck did the GSWs lose to an epically decimated Grizzlies team?

It’s really looking like the end of the dynasty.
