The Pistons and Wizards are finalizing a deal to trade Marvin Bagley, Isaiah Livers, and two second-round picks for forwards Danilo Gallinari and Mike Muscala, sources tell ESPN

Hey our old friends are being shopped lol. Let's pick up Gallanari again since this team needs depth at SF/PF

We can't get them from Washington because we traded them there less than a year ago, and there's no way the Pistons would trade 2 seconds for them just to turn around and deal them to us. That ship has sailed
I'm bitter.

I would assume Gallinari gets bought out with his salary. But not really sure he does anything for the Cs right now. He’s a pylon defensively b

Gallinari is toast at this point. Last 10 games: 4pts, 2rebs, 26% from the field, 25% from 3pt. He was out the Wizards rotation. I’m not sure he’s an NBA caliber player anymore.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

That's what some folks say about Kornet (not saying they're correct though).

Not sure you can make much out of those stats when he played inconsistent minutes for a bad team. Give Gallinari a defined role on a team where he's on the floor with several legit scoring options around him and he will be very effective.

I was hoping we'd find a way to get Bagley ourselves.

Does Gallo fit into our trade exception?

No, but it doesn’t matter.  You can’t trade for someone you’ve traded away the same season (last offseason counts as this season for this rule).  We can sign him if he’s released now that he’s been traded again, but that’s the only way for us to get him or Muscala this season.

I’m a pass on Gallinari. I never liked the idea of him here . But I figured Brad knows more than me and I trust him.
I don’t think Gallinari looks like the player he was pre injury. I know that’s to expect and a no brainer but I feel Gallinari does t always look to make the next pass. He has a need to get his. I’m not saying he’s selfish but if he had g seen a shot in a long time ( which would be the case here) I see him chucking and he’s very slow now on d . I don’t think he can even move on d like Kornet  right now.

Detroit are clearing salary..Muscala & Danillo are FAs & might get waived
the worst team in the league doing a trade where they give up 2 2nd round picks seems very strange to me, especially when they acquired veterans for young players.  Just very strange, even to save some money.

Here would be my argument. Adding those two players isn't about improving their record, but it's an investment in the development of their other young players.

Floor-spacers (like Gallo and Muscala theoretically are) help their other players develop as offensive players. Cunningham, Thompson, Duren, and Ivey should all benefit from having other shooters on the court.

The more surprising thing to me is how Joe Harris couldn't get playing time on this team in this role.

I also think there's a significant chance that Bagley was disrupting the chemistry, which is something that was noticeably odd in the Pistons game a few weeks ago. But then again, who cares about chemistry if the team is 3-36?

If Golden State decides to dump some players for picks Dario Šarić, Jonathan Malangu Kuminga, and Moses Josiah Moody all fit into our trade exception...

Saric would be a nice fit. I was disappointed when he signed with GSW this past summer.

Bagley is pretty terrible. I honestly don’t think he’s better than Luke.
