Pistons beat the Wizards by double digits, 129-117. Cade Cunningham did not play.

How the heck did the GSWs lose to an epically decimated Grizzlies team?
That team needs a shakeup
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

OKC seems to struggle against the lakers.  Could be a tough potential first round match up.

They are intimidated playing against guys their fathers age.

Nice to see Jontay Porter finally making it in the league.  Was hoping we would draft him in 2019 (he went undrafted). He reminded me then of Al Horford.  Still does.

They are just a bad matchup for them.

Disappointing that we gave up a likely top 10 pick in the Jrue trade. I really want GSW to figure it out and make the playoffs so the pick is a lot worse

I’m not too worried about the pick, myself.  We’re a better team this year with Jrue than we would have been with Brogdan and that pick, and Portland presumably factored in Golden State’s potential for collapse into the value of that pick.  It’s Memphis who really should be kicking themselves for including that pick in the Smart deal.

It could sting a little more if Jrue walks, but I’m betting he signs an extension before too long.

I'm not disappointed.  Holiday is helping the Cs this year win #18.  No guarantee that a GSW first round pick would help this team in the next few years or ever!  Jrue is the real deal.....now.

He's 33 - do we really want to sign him to a significant extension if we don't go all the way this season?

Sometimes making a trade requires two sides to make it work. Just hope Jrue balls out on the way to Banner 18 this year. Otherwise Celtics would've been stuck with Brogdon and Timelord, which idk if I'm still happy to have both of them here.

Through 40 games the C's opponents have a combined .518 winning percentage.

Their next nine opponents ending with the Lakers game Feb 1st have a .537 winning percentage, which is crazy considering one of those teams is the 7-32 Spurs.

But after that things ease up considerably. The remaining 32 games have feature teams with a combined .444 winning percentage.

So if the C's make it through this stretch with a strong they will be in excellent position for the 1 seed.

I’d do the trade today knowing Jrue’s current value and with the GSW pick at 10.  Jrue has better overall game than Brogdon and seems to fit better player and personality wise.

Yes, we do.  There’s obviously a dollar amount that would make it problematic, but he’s pretty much the same player he’s been the past couple of years, only with the ball a bit less because we have so many players to give the ball to.  It’s not like he’s suffering from a major decline at this point, and he’s been generally healthy.  My hope is we’ll have a 3-year extension for $90-105 million.
