The Celtics need to start reeling in those championships before the Thunder are ready  ;D. They just gave the Timberwolves their biggest beatdown of the season by 23 points.

That team is so talented. Obviously SGA and Holmgren are unique talents. But Jalen Williams is great as well. The rookie Wallace looks promising. And they have a bunch of other young talented players. Besides that, they still have a huge bag with draft capital. It will be hard for them to mess that up. Scary.

They have cheap ownership that helped mess it up once before.  Don’t count on them not doing it again.

The Pistons officially set the NBA all-time losing streak tonight with their loss to the Nets.

Watch them end up with the 4th pick.

I’ve said it before but it has to suck being a Pistons fan

They had several high draft picks and came up with duds. Then they threw a ton of money at a head coach who rewarded them with the worst losing streak in NBA history. It's brutal.

None of their moves were awful in a vaccuum (at least in the form of like taking Okafor number 2, Bennett number 1, wiseman 2 etc) but they just don’t fit together at all. Their worst trades were actually taking on other teams busts like wiseman and bagley. I think Cade, Ivey, Duran, Thompson could all still be solid players but probably not on this team.

Maybe they shouldn't have given up on Drummond . The big guy went back in time and registered a 24/25 game (points and rebounds!) tonight. Still an impressive figure in the paint.

Good night for us with OKC beating Minny to give us a game up on the top overall seed in the loss column, though I don't expect Minny to sustain this throughout the season once their schedule tightens up.

As for Memphis, that's now four in a row post Ja's return, and now Smart is back. Can they make a run to the play-in? Going to be tough, but I think they may be able to do it. They're only four losses from LAL and GSW in the 9 and 10 spot, respectively, and I expect Memphis to play a bit better than both of those teams the rest of the way.

It's amazing that the Smart trade may be even better than imagined by managing to knock the Lakers out of the play-in completely.

Suns and Lakers could both miss out on the play-ins. The West is deeeeeeeeeep.

Zack Lavine has missed the last 13 games for Chicago. Bulls have gone 9-4 in that stretch.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Sengun stat update

Sengun: 20.4ppg 9.2rpg 5.2apg 32mpg 58.6% TS%
D Sabonis: 18.9ppg 12.1rpg 7.5apg 35mpg 62.7%

Still lagging a bit behind Sabonis. Not as efficient, lower rebounding and assist numbers. Closing the gap though.

Man I kind of always wondered why Bamba was going around the league on a minimum as a stretch big, but his defense is as bad as Reaves or Duncan Robinsons.

Edit and he can't set a screen to save his life.

Something I read about Mo Bamba: He's so amazing at things that most NBA players can't do that you forget to check if he can do what every NBA can do. The answer is no, he has no footwork, BBIQ, etc.

A few years ago, I asked one of Mo's teammates if he thought Mo would have a big year. The teammate simply laughed and said, "Mo's a great dude, but no."

Orlando got smacked around by the Sixers without Embiid tonight. Big win for the Sixers, allowing them to keep pace with the Bucks and Celtics.

Orlando has really fallen off lately. They are still currently the 4 seed but could just as easily drop to the 7 seed with a few game swing in the standings.

I still feel confident Philly is the 2nd best in the East. My hope would be to avoid them until the ECF and same with MIL.

I want the 1 seed not because of homecourt advantage (since we're 10-12 combined at home the last two postseasons anyways so does it really matter, and we've choked some big home games too), but because there's a good chance the 2/3 seed will have a much harder path overall. I'd like to let PHI-MIL battle each other while the C's maybe have an easier road. Yeah maybe that means Miami 2nd round but I'm fine with that. It's also possible MIA slips to the 6 seed behind 2 of ORL/NYK/CLE. A path where we have to face both MIL and PHI in back-to-back series though may be difficult.

Sixers are really good.  Imagine how good they could have been if they didn't keep messing up their assets by making terrible trades.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Bigs - Shaquille O'Neal
Wings -  Lebron James
Guards - Luka Doncic

Watching the OKC/Knicks game and holy wow is OKC fun to watch. They have some insane talent. Shai is a superstar but I didn't realize this kid Jalen Williams was so good. And Holgrem, Dort, etc. They are young, and are going to be scary for a long time.

Thoughts on the Knicks, Brunson is amazing, but RJ Barrett strikes me as a player that would drive you insane as a Knicks fan. Mike Breen is one of the best announcers. I didn't realize Wall Szczerbiak was the color guy. Pretty cool.

Toronto moved Schroder to the bench and started a non-PG in Gary Trent Jr instead. That is an interesting move.

They have Scottie Barnes who can play PG and Siakam who can give them a secondary playmaker. Trent would be a 3rd ball-handler.

Gives the starting unit a better shooter in Trent over Schroder to improve their floor spacing. Now two legit shooters in Trent & Anunoby along with two streak shooters in Siakam and Scottie Barnes.

I like that lineup balance. Good idea by TOR coach.

That is a really big lineup. It worked against Washington but let’s see. Many teams don’t play a traditional point guard these days. Having Trent be a combo guard seems like a common thing. I don’t see that as a problem.
