Yeah it's crazy. Different sports but it's also like Tom Brady and David Ortiz. Those two were some of the best in their sports and super clutch and they were elite even to the end of their careers. Lebron can probably go another 2-3 years at this rate barring some major injuries along the way

I feel like pitchers and QB’s can sometimes play at a high level into their late 30’s if their arms hold up. Nolan Ryan and Randy Johnson come to mind. Not sure how many batters are playing (clean) at an elite level at that age, though. Lebron putting up those numbers at age 40 feels different. Gives me Barry Bonds vibes, TBH.

I alway said James does it, no way he can play like this at 39
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

then why doesn't everyone else perform similarly to their primes as well. I'd be surprised if most athletes don't use at some point. Too much money on the line to not. Given that, I think everyone is basically on a level playing field so the fact that he is still going strong at his age, makes him unique.

Brady doesn’t look or seem like someone who took steroids. He was very average from a physical standpoint throughout his career. Never had a big arm, never had good mobility. He just needed his arm to hold up, which it did. Lebron being able to run with guys that are nearly half his age is a bit different, IMO.

steroids aren't just for beefing up and looking huge.  Lots of uses and purposes.

The Los Angeles Lakers moved D'Angelo Russell to a bench role in favor of Jarred Vanderbilt before their 129-120 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder. Vanderbilt joined the Lakers' regular starters in LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Taurean Prince and Cam Reddish.

I had not realized they did that. That is a huge starting lineup. LeBron at PG alongside two SFs in Reddish & Taureen Prince, a PF in Vanderbilt and a PF/C in A Davis. Taureen Prince is a combo forward. I think Reddish is also but LAL have been forced to use him at SG this year due to roster imbalances.

Vanderbilt is probably their best defensive guard in that lineup. The best quickness to deal with ball-handlers.

------------------

I like the idea of moving D.Russell to the bench in favour of a more defensive option. Gabe Vincent is currently injured but I'd like to see him start ahead of Russell when he returns. I like him as a 3+D PG to play alongside LeBron more than D.Russell who needs the ball in his hands (a lot) and doesn't play defense.

How do PED users "seem"?  Hanging around nutjob trainers while being better at 37 than 27?

Have you heard of the TB12 diet? The guy won’t even drink a cup of coffee.. Doesn’t strike me as someone who is going to be taking steroids. Was his arm strength or running ability better at 37 than 27? I doubt it. Decision making probably was though. Should check out Tom vs Time.

Dang. 2pt game 40secs left. His team loses the ball, Zion loses his shoe, instead of running back on defense to stop a layup Zion goes to retrieve his shoe. 5 on 4 the other way. Rockets get a layup.

Oh man, that is one ugly play (video clip).

Jabari Smith with the layup. Probably the guy Zion was tasked with defending at PF.

That dude doesn't care about winning. He just wants fame and the... um... offcourt benefits of being a ball player.

He also had that moment in Duke where his shoe apparently "blew up" as he was making a move. This guy might have been out of shape even from his Duke days. Obviously it's a lot worse now than back then, but people blamed the Nike design but like... the way his shoe ripped looks like that of someone who is "heavy" and leans one way
