So if Dolphins win, then it's literally Bills @ Dolphins again next weekend. If Bills win, they will face Steelers next weekend and the Dolphins will have a rematch with the Chiefs. Browns @ Texans is already determined. My gut tells me that'll be a Saturday game.

NFC is still hard to sort out, lot of results and games still occurring right now.

The Eagles are crashing down. From 10-1 to probably 11-6 now and a wild card spot

Reminds me of 2019 Patriots. Steamroll easy schedule until they play a real schedule. They'll be bounced early in playoffs.

Same. I feel the same about the Chiefs too. They have not looked good and even last week make no mistake, if Burrow is playing the Bengals win that easily. The Chiefs defense is really good but I don't see them as elite like the Browns and that's what they'll need to make it back to the SB. It's not all Mahomes' fault but his receivers outside of Kelce are not reliable either.

Black Monday tomorrow for some NFL coaches, who’s going be fired?? Already in season :

Carolina fired Reich
Chargers fired Staley
Raiders fired McDaniels

Pretty big lock that Ron Rivera will be fired here in Washington.  They should clean house and rid themselves of the entire coaching staff including front office personnel.

I’m sure Eric Byenimi will interview for the HC job, but like me, most of the people around here want him gone just as fast as Rivera.

#2 pick, possibly Drake Maye or Caleb Williams.  90 million in cap space, and some underutilized talent on the roster.  New owner. Should be a top destination for a new GM and head coach.

Just curious- why? I know the players didn't love accountability, but what's wrong with Bieniemy?

I actually think the Commanders offense was ok, considering their lack of talent. I thought their defense was porous this year. This is backed up by Points For/Against.
The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing.

you’re right about our defense, they’ve been the biggest problem by far, especially given the amount of money and draft capital spent.

So basically here’s the cliff notes for my problems with EB.

We have a bad offensive line, there’s no doubt about it, and it’s not his fault.  The problem is that he’s shown no creativity as far as play calling to help address this.  Scott Turner, our OC last year (who was terrible too) did a better job of masking our line weaknesses.  He ran a lot more PA roll outs, RPO, and misdirection.  EB clearly had an offense that he wanted to run here and he was calling it the way that he wanted regardless of whether it fit the talent that he had.

And just to pile on my previous point.  Our offensive line is much better at run blocking than pass blocking.  Look at the pass to run ratio on EBs play calling, especially during the first half of the season.  It’s absurd.  At one point, he called 55 straight pass plays without designed run.  This is when your young first year starting QB is leading the league in sacks taken and about to set a record for it.  It’s a miracle Sam Howell didn’t get killed the first half of the season.

The guy has two play calls on 3rd or 4th and 1.  Half back dive and wide receiver post.

Terry Mclauren is your best offensive player and makes no special effort to try and get him the ball, especially when the offense is struggling.

Good offensive coaches tailor their offenses to the talent strengths they have on the roster.  If he’s been trying to do that he’s done a terrible job.

I could go on but this is the meat of it for me.  I’ll say this, he’s gotten better as the season has gone on, but he’s clearly learning on the job, which is astounding considering this is the same job he was supposed to have in Kansas City.

Rams got the W in Levi's.

Think the Rams have the momentum to appear in the Superbowl? After all, momentum has been a huge factor in making it into Superbowls (and winning it).

Rams, Browns and Bills are my sleeper picks to make a deep run and possibly even reach the SB. If Buffalo wins tonight they'll be the 2 seed. Obviously Baltimore and San Fran are the favorites in each conference, but if I had to guess the Rams/Browns/Bills could use their momentum to make a deep run and maybe pull off an upset or two.

I'm not as sold on the Chiefs, Dolphins, Lions and Cowboys. Eagles look bad now and may go one-and-done.

Jacoby Brissett was clearly the best starting QB on the Commanders. I have no idea why they started Sam Howell and kept with him.  Just as clear as Brissett was the best QB on the team is that Howell will never develop into a good starting level QB.  Howell blows.  Whoever was responsible for starting him and not Brissett should absolutely be fired.  Just a horrid decision.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Good ole Ron Rivera.  He said he’s found ‘his guy’ at the beginning of the season and just like Carson Wentz last year, he refuses to admit he’s wrong.  It’s quite astounding, he even did it this year with his job on the line

If Howell was his guy and there was no going back, he needed to trade Brissett earlier in the season and he would’ve got great value for him with all injuries around the league.

Edit:  it should be noted though that Brissett wasn’t brought in to compete for a starting job, it was Howells job to lose, Brissett was supposed to be here as a veteran presence.  Howells play despite everything wasnt bad through the first half of the season.  The wheels really fell off in mid November though and Rivers’s and EBs mistake was not going to Brissett a lot sooner.  I think that pill is a lot easier for fans to swallow if it ends up landing us Drake Maye in the draft.

So do the Bears draft Caleb Williams or keep Fields? Justin didn’t exactly end the season on a high note…

Wild Card Weekend Schedule

Saturday:
4:30 PM: Browns at Texans
8 PM: Dolphins/Steelers/Bills at Chiefs

Sunday:
1 PM: AFC's Number 2 seed vs. Number 7 seed
4:30 PM: Packers at Cowboys
8 PM: Rams at Lions

Monday:
8 PM: Eagles at Buccaneers

-Browns will beat the Texans in a low-scoring game. Their defense has been superb.
-Chiefs steamrolls Dolphins. Tua and Dolphins are frauds.
-Steelers without TJ Watt and playing at Orchard Park in January? Buffalo easy win.
-Packers at Jerry World? I know I like to bask on the Cowboys, but they have been playing exceptionally well in Jerry World. Cowboys take this one 31-21.
-Rams/Lions is going to be the most talked about game and dramatic game of the weekend. Jared Goff vs Matthew Stafford. Both against former teams. How can you say no to that. Lions have been slowing down lately while Rams have shown some promise; I'll give the edge to the Lions at home.
-Eagles at Bucs rematch is going to be interesting. Both teams watering down, but I think Baker Mayfield will bring the Bucs to victory and send last season's Superbowl runner-up packing.

There we have it!
