Someone can tell me what happens in the Dolphins-Chiefs game. I'm not signing up for that service. It's so dumb that they have this during a playoff game too. So what, in the future it'll no longer be local channels, it'll all be Amazon/Peacock and other streaming sites?  ::)
It is on NBC in Miami and Kansas City.

That's fine, but does nothing for neutral fans like me in Boston  :P
Just do a month. Binge some shows and then cancel.  Poker Face is excellent

Dolphins/Chiefs.  Exclusively on Peacock.   ::)

Ummm...no thanks.
I watch all NBC games on peacock. It is pretty nice. They have less commercials and more features.

I feel the opposite. I have YoutubeTV with NFL Season Ticket and NBA League pass. So there is always something else to watch during commercial breaks. On Peacock you have to switch apps to watch other sports.

This gets annoying fast. I use the NESN a-la-cart streaming app and watching Bruins / Sox games is a chore, as you're locked in to that app and can't jump to another game without exiting. It's nice to be able to rspidly surf different channels with the click of a button.

YoutubeTV is great for that.

Not sure if I will ever fully enter the streaming world. I do have a couple of paid subscriptions but I’m mostly old-fashioned basic cable. I venture to guess I ultimately pay more than I should but I really don’t understand it all that well.  I do know that I don’t have Peacock. How do you get news and “free” tv networks (yes I know it’s not free) without cable?

I'm waiting to cut the cord until everything is available in one place. Youtube was enticing, but they just upped their prices. Saving money every month sounds nice, but flicking around in my leisure time to find out I can't watch what I want has a price too. Namely, the cost of a new tv when I smash it.

Cable is definitely on the way out though. I'm going to wait until the options are better than Youtube or Roku.

You tell me when. 😉

Also, my predictions for this weekend:

Browns > Texans 20-17
Chiefs > Dolphins 24-16 (hope I'm wrong though, I hate KC)

Bills > Steelers 31-14
Cowboys > Packers 31-21
Lions > Rams 23-17

Bucs > Eagles 24-21 (semi-upset)

They have a bunch of good stuff, but if you are only going to watch thing (other than football), I always suggest Poker Face.  It really is an excellent show.

Talk about blowing it, the Jacksonville Jaguars did, losing 5 out of last 6 games

Jason La Canfora at the WaPo says that Trevor Lawrence hasn't done enough to deserve the money being thrown at him.

Quote
When the Jaguars won the Tank For Trevor sweepstakes three years ago, earning the right to draft Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence with the No. 1 pick, it was easy to assume that by January 2024 he would be poised to join the ranks of the wealthiest players in the NFL.

However, with three regular seasons nearly complete — including two in Coach Doug Pederson’s very real NFL operation and not the atrocity that was Urban Meyer’s grim 2021 season coaching in Jacksonville — things are considerably murkier. Lawrence had one pronounced stretch of superb play late last season, when he looked the part of franchise-changing savior, and several longer stretches in which his production has been mundane.

A sustained playoff run — as unlikely as that seems for a sputtering Jaguars team that has crumbled as injuries (including several to Lawrence) mounted — would alter the course of contract talks for the better. But as things stand now, with Jacksonville needing a win Sunday just to secure a playoff berth out of the suspect AFC South, opinions vary as to how the Jaguars should proceed with their quarterback this offseason and whether he has shown enough to warrant the type of massive second deal that generally results from a first-pick quarterback meeting his potential.

“It’s easy for me to say, but that’s a no for me,” one NFL general manager said when asked whether he would extend Lawrence this year. (He spoke on the condition of anonymity because he is prohibited by NFL rules from discussing the contracts of players not on his roster.) “I need to see another year from him. He’s not the same guy he was a year ago. His agent’s not going to want to hear that, but I can’t pay him like a top quarterback right now.”

Trevor Lawrence has been an NFL disappointment, right?  He's above-average, but he's not generational like he was described as.  He was supposed to be the most can't miss QB prospect since Andrew Luck.

Yup.

That whole QB draft class as a whole has been extremely underwhelming.

Kansas City is going to be as low as -2°F come Saturday night.

For a hot/humid weather team like Miami, they're gonna get frostbitten. KC with the big home field advantage besides that hostile crowd.

Jags were 8-3 and then Lawrence hurt his ankle and followed that up with a couple of other injuries.  Nothing serious, but enough it clearly affected him (and he missed a game) and the team fell off a cliff.  If he doesn't get hurt, Jags make the playoffs and we might be having a different conversation.  Even before the injuries, he hasn't looked like the can't miss prospect, but he did win a ayoff game in his 2nd year and the Jags were the #1 seed in the AFC, so the winning has been there when he has been healthy.  I'd wait a year to give him the mega extension even though it would coat more by doing so.

I think Jaguars won a playoff game last year in part that the Chargers are known chokers.

Sure, but they were still in the playoffs and won a playoff game and lost by just 7 to KC in the divisional round. They were on the up swing and were 8-3 and the 1seed in the AFC, then Trevor messed up his ankle against the Bengals and the wheels fell off. I mean Lawrence had 6 games with a passer rating under 85 this year, his last 4 games and the games against the Niners and Chiefs. He had 7 int's in his first 11 games and 7 in his last 4.  The injuries clearly affected him enough to affect the scoreboard. I mean it isn't like the Jags have a great defense. They were winning games because Trevor was just good enough, but when he got hurt, they just couldn't overcome it especially as the schedule got a bit tougher.

Yeah, he's def been a disappointment.

I also wonder why Andrew Luck was can't miss. I don't remember him winning one big game on the big stage. Regular season wins, sure.
The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing.
