When I was looking at Hornacek I came across this short interview done by his daughter Abbie Hornacek with Jeff for Fox Sports where they mentioned this story I had never heard before.

Apperarently, Jeff Hornacek fell the night before the 1997 Finals lifting boxes in garage and cracked open his head. His family found him in a pool of blood. He spent the night in the emergency room. And then he had to go out and play against MJ the next day. That was his rest-ful l night before the Finals. His preparation.

And he was there. No complaints. Ready to play.

Appearently, Hornacek only missed 6 games in the 6 years he was in Utah. An ironman just like Stockton and Malone were. Yet he is never mentioned that way.

I don't know why the word rest-ful trigger the profanity filter. But it did.

With this pick, I'm going with the 2x first all-defensive player that was a crucial component of those great 90s Trail Blazers teams. The LA Clippers select...

Yeah, I liked Hornacek and his versatility. Capable of bordering on 50/40/90, a 20/5/5 guy in his prime, super strong on defence (incredible steal generator), and could play various roles on both ends of the floor. I wanted someone who would be able to provide similar things to Dumars, and Hornacek was close for my mind

PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

This is why I almost always post and then edit a little bit - just to make sure the general thrust of the idea makes it onto the page  ;D

ST - FU I would imagine. Funny quirk of the system.

That story is quite full on! Glad there were no concussion complications from it. Hornacek the iron man.

In order to strengthen our perimeter defense, OKC selects Gerald Wallace. He shot 37% from 3 in 2010 while making all defensive second team.

This guy was so good he got traded for Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett!  ;D

Ohh okay! I was looking at it and I couldn't figure it out!

That makes sense. Fair enough.

Wait, that is Crash and McDyess off the bench? That is some nasty dunking.

And this is the Dwight Howard - Shawn Kemp team. Wow.

With pick 8.8, the ChiBulls reunite the ‘twin semi towers” of the 1991-1992 Cavs, who lost 4-2 in the Conference Finals to MJ.

At his peak, he finished top 11 in MVP voting 3 years in a 5 year period.
