Here’s the guy I really want the Cs to get. Go get him Brad!

I'm surprised that there were only a dozen or so scouts there.  To me, he seems like a no-brainer for a two-way slot, or at the very least a training camp contract.

Wow, now I have not seen any other "workouts" but it looked to me that he had a lot of nice touch on the elbow jumpers and the corner 3s.  He measured 6'-9.25" with 7'-3.25 wingspan at his draft combine.  Only 25.  What is not to like?  I wonder why he didn't get on a summer league roster.  I would absolutely offer him a camp deal or 2-way.  I wonder how much pull Tatum would have with him.  He seems like a very worthy reclamation project.

I was looking back at the 2017 draft, what a class.  Giles went #20, but here is the team you could make from that draft:

Fox
Mitchell
Tatum
Markkanen
Adebayo

Lonzo Ball, Derrick White, Josh Hart, OG Anunoby, Kyle Kuzma, Dillion Brooks, a pretty good bench could be assembled too.

I would guess a lot of pull, since it's JT's lobbying that allowed Giles to regain eligibility for a 2-way.

He looks good!  Get him.  What's there to lose?  But -- really would love to see him play an SL game just to see v. competition, such as it is.

It's kind of weird that they C's haven't offered him a 2-way deal yet. Do Tatum a solid and also get a look at a really interesting big man. It seems like a pretty low risk move.

Completely agree. Maybe Brad hasn’t seen this clip of him hitting all those corner 3’s!

Should definitely be on the SL roster over some of these bums.

Stewart just signed an extension for $16 mil per so he’s off the table at this point.

Hadn't seen that.  Wow, that is a nice contract for him.  He has started 132 games for DET in 3 seasons.  Guess getting him was a pipe dream.
Detroit are the anti-Toronto. Going for a team of centres

I think the bigger question is why is he not on a summer league roster.  That could be a better answer to why he doesn’t have any 2-way offers.  A lot of guys can look good in workouts without anyone guarding them or without having to guard anyone.  The real question is whether this guy can keep up with the rigors of an NBA game with his injury history, let alone a season.  I hope he can, but I’m not holding my breath

Different to what? He is in the same vein as Kabengele / Vonleh

Yeah.  There's nothing wrong with dumpster diving if you're doing it with your two-way players. There's as close to zero risk as possible in the NBA.

I’m curious if Justin Champagnie ends up being the Celtics second two way player.

If I’m not mistaken, Champagnie‘s contract isn’t guaranteed yet. Although he’s doing well in summer league, I don’t know how he gets minutes on a competitive Celtics roster.
