Starting to think they resign Jaylen to trade him next offseason.

I think that is what Brad is stockpiling assets to move him. Don’t think Jaylen staying long term is the plan.

Now that is an interesting idea.

So stockpiling 2nd round picks= Brad is planning on trading Jaylen next year. Hmmm

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

So, one can only wonder, Siakam maybe?  Caruso hmmm?  Who else?

Jaylen for Luka next summer.  We're going to need those seconds to send out the bad salary Dallas wants to move with Luka to match Jaylen's supermax.
Man that would be a fun move. Reunite Luka & Kristaps, except this time it's Tatum in-between rather than Dorian Finney-Smith.
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

I don't think it's necessarily an indication of that, but more about flexibility. The stockpile of seconds historically would be viewed as a pretty mediocre bunch of assets, but the value of 2nds has been rising. I doubt Brad is sitting there thinking about trading Jaylen in 12+ months. Or, rather, that this is the only option he's thinking of.

Yep.  Not actually happening, of course, but of the wacko trades it feels slightly possible.  Kyrie drives Luka crazy, he wants out, but Kyrie is untradable, so the Mavs try to team up Kyrie with his now-friend Jaylen to see if that works better.  But salary has to be moved, so the seconds come in handy.  Seismic move made easier by the existence of a bunch of second-round picks.

We can dare to dream. I will similarly dream of Giannis becoming unhappy in Milwaukee, and wishing to play with us

That’s the new four-year exception, minimum salary all four years, for those keeping score at home.

Bill Simmons had the idea that the Lakers brought back Hachimura and Russell so they could trade for Kyrie at deadline.

Well I hope Joe plays him. Think he can defend, rebound and is really athletic. Glad to see he will be with the big club

I think Brad is stockpiling assets so he can attach them to whoever he wants to move on from - be it KP if things don’t work out, Malcolm, DW, or even Rob. If we win it all next season, I don’t think JB is going anywhere.

I am surprised by this. I thought he would be a two way this season. Just took one of the open roster spots off the board. I hope he is able to contribute.
