We finally found a championship coach and now this. Every company I have been at , people sleeping with each other. I get he broke rules, one year seems extreme in this day and age.  I am disgusted and disappointed that our current society is so uptight.

He agreed to the organization's code of conduct when he took the job. He violated it. Its not about society being uptight, it's about him blatantly disregarding the organization's policies.

If you make a deal you keep it. A year's suspension seems really harsh.

They might make the suspension for a year "forcing" him to resign and then they don't have to fire him and the Celtics don't look like the bad guy.

Thats my assumption at this stage as well, more or less forcing his hand.

One year is too long. How about a month, fine for charity and apology? This still seems extreme to me. Is anyone in this country allowed to make a mistake any longer?

All mistakes aren’t equal. This is a fireable offense. You embarrass the organization and stomp all over any code of conduct rules for selfish reasons.

I’m almost at the point where I’m ready for him to go. Sleezy dude. We can do better. The Celtics have a lot of talent- they have the leverage- not Ime.

A mistake is forgetting to put the toilet seat down. This is an actionable decision. He knew the rules, understood that there could be severe consequences both personally and professionally, and he still did it.

I don't feel any sympathy for him at all. C's are probably throwing out the idea of a 1 year suspension so that he'll step down and they're aren't on the hook for the rest of his salary.

I don’t think anyone is calling this a normal consensual relationship.

I’m just saying it wasn’t harassment or anything like that. Sure he knew the rules, but did he know how serious the penalty would be? When I found out last night that it was a consensual relationship with a staffer I thought we’d be looking at 10 games. I’m guessing as others have suggested he refused to stop after being warned.

We don’t really know what happened, so it’s all conjecture. We’re trusting Shams and Wyc, and they haven’t been specific. There’s a wide range of things that could have happened, including Ime’s innocence.

Nobody knows what it was, this is all assumption at this stage. Woj called it 'consensual' Shams called it 'inappropriate' so everything is still on the table.

My assumption is that it may have been consensual to start, Ime crossed the line, and now the Celtics are getting sued. I just don't see how Celtics management wouldn't sweep this under the rug, or why they would even care, if it wasn't going to get out to the public regardless.

If any of this is true, it should give us an insight into Ime’s decision making. Not so good.

It doesn't even have to be that.
Woj said had a relationship, so it may be over. The female employee may agree that it was consensual and she wasn't coerced. Great the C's dodged a bullet.

But what if it happens again? Maybe this time the female says it was consensual, but in hindsight she was coerced by Ime's authority. After the breakup she feels uncomfortable and bullied and sues the Celtics.

Now we have a pattern. Given the Sarver situation I don't think any ownership group wants to be defending accusations of a hostile working environment.

Yeah, it's hard to know what to make of this without having the facts.

But, in the world of possibilities involving consensual but inappropriate relationships among Celtics employees, I think that one year seems harsh in most circumstances.

Sarver got one year (as an owner) for creating and fostering an extremely hostile work environment.

Right now, the NBA discipline policy is at least 10 games if a player is convicted of a violent felony.  The only player who has recently been suspended for more than one year was Ron Artest, for going into the stands and brawling in Detroit.

I’m speculating that he had an affair with a married woman, a colleagues wife or something. I’ll also speculate that his mask was halfway off during the intimacy
