No. But if Tatum violated the team's code of conduct, he'd be suspended and/or fined. Players have been punished for conduct violations for forever. This is not a new concept. The issue isn't the cheating. This isn't a morality issue, it's the violation of the organization's code. I'm not sure we people can't understand that.

That would be a colossal mishandling of this if they let the day end without formally commenting. Its ridiculous that it's taken them this long.

To be fair there is a lot to be done.
Is the employee good with what the C's are doing.
Who is going to be the next head coach? Should we hire a veteran assistant?
What about Ime, will he accept the suspension, resign, fight it? I don't know if the NBCA has a CBA.
They probably have to hire an HR firm to come in and audit/improve

They need to appease all interested parties or face lawsuits. They need the players to buy in. They need to make sure full ownership, not just Wyc is onboard.

And they need to try and make this a one and done. Media day is going to be a crapshow, but they need to lay the groundwork for "I think we've already addressed that, we don't have anything further to offer"

So I've heard this said in the media and I agree. I highly doubt Woj and Shams just stumbled upon this last night and decided to tweet about it immediately after. It's possible the C's organization and multiple high-ranking reporters/media folks have known about this for a while (weeks, possibly even longer) but kept it silent while trying to figure things out. Plus Wyc did come out and say in a recent interview that he thinks people are "overrating the Celtics". Then Timelord has surgery and this happens with Ime.

What's shocking though is still, no word or updates from the Celtics organization. Really not a good look.

I feel like a season-long suspension would be bad for continuity. Even if the interim coach is an Udoka disciple, it's not the same as having Udoka, and I can totally see this season knocking the Cs off-track in their team and individual development, stunting growth and setting the team back.

There was a report that the players were briefed on everything a few days ago, so there's reason to believe the team had been trying to handle it discreetly.
