Yeah, it's hard to know what to make of this without having the facts.

But, in the world of possibilities involving consensual but inappropriate relationships among Celtics employees, I think that one year seems harsh in most circumstances.

Sarver got one year (as an owner) for creating and fostering an extremely hostile work environment.

Right now, the NBA discipline policy is at least 10 games if a player is convicted of a violent felony.  The only player who has recently been suspended for more than one year was Ron Artest, for going into the stands and brawling in Detroit.
Player discipline is limited by the CBA, if its bad enough you cut the player.
I agree it's harsh, maybe even an overreaction. But Wyc has to come out strong on this. Now if something happens in the future and the precedent has been set by this he may regret it.

Totally agree with Steven A Smith here that this should have never been leaked.

I know the C's organization tries preach family so it's got to be difficult to not lay down a hard punishment and save face with employees' actual families. We as fans forget that the organization promotes inclusion of not just a player but their families. What do C's say to the spouses if they let this slide? Would it look like they could have enabled it or hid it if they didn't do a suspension on those families' eyes?

This is why besides legal reasons you don't want to have in company relationships that are out side of marital ones.

Steven A. Smith is a cartoon character. He brings everything back to race, it’s embarrassing.

The Celtics organization is a vault, nothing gets out. The most likely scenario is that a jilted partner has leaked the story to the press.

I just don't buy that the Celtics would create a PR nightmare days before Media Day for giggles. Especially as an organization that typically doesn't have a lot of leaks.

I have a feeling that there's a lot more to this story than what we've heard so far.

I’m confused. Is JSD stupid for quoting Steven A, or is the country stupid for other reasons? Please elaborate.

Well, I do agree that this is a pretty stupid country, but then I see Iran kill a woman for not wearing a hat. Russia also appears to be a haven for stupidity.

Then we have Ime, a man that has the world in his hands, throw it away for some company tail.

How much do you fine him?
If you found out the Celt's are facing a $2M lawsuit, would that factor in?

The leak about the punishment and all the speculation surrounding it has done more harm to the Celtics and the female staff members than the affair itself. So far at least...

So if Tatum sleeps around they are going to suspend him as well, just stupid

Agreed. Its also very disappointing that the Celtics any type of formal statement yet. They're not handling this well at all.

Once they suspended him it was always going to leak. I don't understand how people did not know this
