Schroder - Smart - Richardson - Dunn - Pritchard - Edwards

What?!

They're all gonna get 11 minutes per game!

Ok, good defensive group, but, Pritchard is the only shooter and how is he getting any minutes?

One of these players is "out" and the board seems to think it's Dunn.

The team has two forwards who won't play much and Kanter, but don't worry...we got 6 point guards!

On the bright side? Killer defense. Turn those guys loose on the Nets and throw in Nesmith. Kyrie will call in sick.

I believe that Smart, Dunn, Schroder, and Richardson can all play up at least one spot at the two, and Smart, Dunn and Richardson can all guard 3s.

Richardson is a 2 who can defend 1-3, as is Smart. Dunn can defend multiple positions, Pritchard has the ability to play off the ball and so does Schroder. Not as limited a group as you may think

Dunn and Edwards would play spot minutes.  A four man guard rotation is reasonable.

I'M THE SILVERBACK GORILLA IN THIS MOTHER——— AND DON'T NONE OF YA'LL EVER FORGET IT!@ 34 minutes

Do you guys think we’d still go after Schroder if Dunn isn’t traded? Plus if Yam somehow kills it in Summer League then we’ll definitely have an over abundance of guards.

I think so, given Schroder is a legitimate starter-level guard who is usually healthy. Getting him on the cheap is too much value to pass up IMO. I think we could easily dump someone like Dunn

Dunn is irrelevant. He can rot at the end of the bench. Nobody gives a crap about him.

This situation kind of reminds me of the year we were rumored to be in discussions to sign-and-trade for David West.  It seemed a bit too good to be true.

I think a lot of us will be disappointed when another team swoops in and sees a chance for a bargain.  Which teams still have their MLE left?
Question is, which teams still have their MLE left and are a better situation for Schroder compared to the Celtics? I mean, the C's offer him the opportunity to become a starter for a playoff team.

Obviously, Schroder's agent is trying to generate interest for his client. That said, we may still have a realistic chance to get him.

Why would Schroder's agent still be his agent after he blew away 80 million dollas.
How do you know it was his agent who turned down that offer and not Schroder himself?

I can think of at least 2 players who will get zero minutes a game of the ones you listed

Assuming we offer Schroder the non-taxpayer MLE, we'd have to dump about $3.9 million in order to stay below the apron. Can't keep everybody. Here are the numbers:

As things stand right now, our payroll is $137,324,558. This is including Jabari's team option and Kanter's minimum salary (although we haven't finalized his signing yet). The apron is $143,002,000, hence we are sitting $5,677,442 below the apron. The non-taxpayer MLE starts at $9,536,000. Long story short, we'd have to somehow dump at least $3,858,558 in order to finalize the Schroder acquisition. Dunn is the obvious choice. His salary is $5,005,350.

So at least we can all agree that Schroeder wasn't worth Danny Green and a first right?

Sam Presti is a tank commander of the highest order! He keeps collecting picks even faster than Hinkie! At some point, he has to make an aggressive move though. Can't possibly draft all these picks.

Hope Schroder doesn't re-sign with the Lakers. I get that he wants to be a starter, but at the end of the day the Lakers can offer him way more money than the C's. If they re-sign him on a relatively cheap contract, then it was probably a fair trade for both teams (at least value-wise).

Basketball-wise, I wouldn't have made the trade for the Lakers. Schroder is at his best when playing with the ball in his hands. Don't like the fit next to LeBron. Fwiw, I don't like the fit next to Tatum either.
