A lot of whining on this board.  Ainge made a great trade and there is still 2 hours left in the deadline and nothing but bit*hing here.  Fournier is a fantastic get and replaces so much of what Hayward gave to the team.  And he gave up nothing.  I hope they Kemba, Fournier, Brown, Tatum, Theis with Smart as the main 6.  I hope the Cs pick up a bench scorer and they look so much better.  Fournier is a great fit for this team short and long term if he can be resigned.  Only 28.  2 yrs younger then Hayward.

He'll be exactly like Hayward and be a nonfactor in the playoffs too, I guess. At least Hayward had the excuse of being injured.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

I'm with you. Addition with minimal subtraction, good move. TP

So if they stay pat where do you go from here? Re-sign Fournier, move Kemba this summer to clear room and draft a PG?

The reaction is pretty much what expected from Celticsblog. Whine when they make a move, whine when they don't make a move. ;D Personally this is a fantastic get and should bolster their weak bench, Fournier is a reliable scorer who is clutch in his own right.

CelticsStrong!,but you are right. Toxicity is king right now.

Fournier gets Smart sent to the bench late in games when his id takes over his mind. Not so much that Fournier is clutch as it is that Smart is definitely not (despite his many fine qualities). Smart can start, Fournier can finish, JB and JT are full-time forwards now.

We have to get rid of a player to make room for Fournier....

Could be another shoe that drops?

That means we'd still a on the fence team - replacing one high priced vet with another and waiting to develop a PG that can be maybe an impact player.

You know, that sounds about right. TP.

Fournier has been averaging 30 mins + a game since 2015 season

It will be interesting to see how Brad manages the minutes

Could be more to come...who knows... but feel free to keep complaining without all the information.

Funny how some here are happy Danny won another deal.....yeah let’s have the ring ceremony...oh wait there no chip for winning trades.

You must give something to get something, if you are winning deals you may want to make sure the other team does not know something you don’t know.

That's because he was one of the main options for the Magic. With the Celtics, he won't have that problem with Kemba, Jaylen and Jayson and be a spot up shooter or a cutter.

You're being pessimistic. I personally can't wait to make room in the rafters for a participation banner.  :P

I think there are small forward shooting guard minutes to be had. We have needed more shooting on the floor in almost ever line up we've trotted out there this year. I'd start Fournier and bring Smart in off the bench if it was up to me. The Starters could use the boost to start games. It really opens up the court to have Theis,Tatum, Brown Fournier ,Kemba on the floor.
