At the moment Danny has his cake and is eating too. He made a trade but can still “like our guys” since he hasn’t moved any of them.

This was a great move. Considering what little they had to give up, I’d rather have him over Gordon. Gordon’s a very average shooter. C’s have enough of those. Hopefully this means Marcus Smarts shot attempts go down, especially at the end of games.

You are missing the point here....Gordon is not perfect  no player is, but he fills a team need. This team cannot keep rolling out soft Tatum as a 4. Gordon allows Tatum to slide to the 3 spot. Trade for what you need, not to win the trade.

When Steve Pagliuca tells Ainge they'll be offering two 2nd round picks for Fournier not one.

Funny how some here are happy Danny won another deal.....yeah let’s have the ring ceremony...oh wait there no chip for winning trades.

You must give something to get something, if you are winning deals you may want to make sure the other team does not know something you don’t know.

Did we all miss the “instant contender” trade?

Giannis for Tacko. Get it done, Danny  ::)

But shooting was arguably a bigger need unless you all want to have Smart taking all those 3 pointers during crunch time. ;D

I would be hesitant to do that trade. ;)

Gordon is not a true PF. Another 6’8” Guy. Think we have enough of those...

Grade A trade.... getting him for 2 2nd rounders is great.. those 2nds will be around 50th pick so usually they don’t make it or overseas guys u never hear from.. if they can resign him for next season it’s a A++
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

6’8 is good enough height, what you need is also strength and willingness to mix it up inside. It also allows Tatum to play the three.

Exactly, Thank you. Half of those 3’s that smart is attempting should now go to a player who has shown that they can shoot throughout their career. Gordon is another guy that does not shoot well consistently. Have enough of those.

just found out about the news. very good move that cost trhe celtics basically nothing of importance.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

This was a nice virtually free move by Danny but it doesn't show that he has cured his two biggest addictions:

His addiction to hoarding non-premium 1st round draft picks.

His addiction to overvaluing Marcus Smart.

I just think that we could have had Gordon too.

Except in the playoffs where he turns into a 35% shooter from the field who hits on 26% from 3. Even his free throw shooting drops.

Good stat for the way Celts run things:

More stat minutiae to watch: Evan Fournier is a killer in hand-off actions. Per the NBA's stats, he scored 1.36 points per possession on 2 shots per game in Orlando, which is 95th percentile in the NBA.
A winner is someone who recognizes his God-given talents, works his tail off to develop them into skills, and uses these skills to accomplish his goals.

Push yourself again and again. Don't give an inch until the final buzzer sounds.

I am assuming for now that there is an understanding for an extension or resign and based on that, I feel this is a very good trade.  We had a need for a scoring wing off the bench.  But I feel we had and still do have an even greater need for a PF.  Looks like that need will not be addressed today.

He's going to be great paired with Timelord or TT.  He can get to the rack and those two can clean up any misses.  I don't understand why more people aren't extremely excited about this deal.
