I think it is over.
Game 1 is over.

Giannis played about as bad as he can possibly play.  He's been able to cook us normally.  Gonna be hard to get him to keep playing that bad.  Maybe he got use to playing trash Detroit defense and needs to adjust.
Giannis did not play "about as bad as he can possibly play". He scored 4 less than he's been averaging this post-season run, which has mainly been games against a weak Detroit team where the points have come easy. He shot worse than usual, but he also hit 3x the amount of threes he normally would. His foul shooting has been bad all postseason.

He's coming up against an elite defensive coach who has had days to figure out what amounts to a plan to stop Giannis, and Al + Baynes executed it perfectly. Giannis shot 2-10 when defended by those two. He didn't play excellently, but I'm not sure you're giving Stevens and our players enough credit. I'm not sure what Giannis can do to get back into the 25-35 point range. Hit more threes??

Sure, he might hit a few more of those contested layups, but I don't think the difference between him being somewhat shut down vs him scoring 30 is what made us victorious by 22.

Besides all of the stats LarBrd33 already mentioned, Giannis also played only 28 minutes per game in the Detroit series. He averaged 33.5 per 36 minutes.
Yeah, I get that. What I'm saying is that Giannis didn't just mysteriously play badly. He was able to coast against a handicapped Detroit team who has no wing defence and an interior presence prone to mental collapses.

Now he comes up against a fearsome defence with players equipped to both defend him and defend his shooters. I just don't expect Giannis to play much better barring terrible officiating / an injury to Al. Regardless of his freakish nature he has quite a limited offensive game.

Happier we're playing him than Kawhi.
Like I said... was 1 game.  Giannis played as bad as he can possibly play.

Let’s hope game 2 is as bad as Kyrie, Gordon and JT can play.

It's certainly as bad as I've ever seen them play, and I only watched 1 half

Not sure Bucks will shoot like this from three again.

Kyrie cannot be this bad again.

Best of 5 series, Boston has home court

Tatum needs to get his head out of his anus and play.

No Tony Brother and Davis in game 3

Honda, at home, haven't in Boston in a long time...should be rocking

Unsurprising to see you specify one of our players who played badly and not the handful of other no-shows

Wonder if Paul thinks it's still over?

Pierce never said it would be a sweep. He never said Boston would win every game. He just thought, based on how the teams looked, that the C's were the better team and the series decided. C's could win in 6 or 7 and the reason being they took that first game.

Okay. I am going overboard on defending Pierce but, to be fair, he could still be right.

I don't think it's quite over, but I'm still confident in our chances. We played terrible in the first half and were only 4 points down. It took 20-47 shooting from 3 and a 6 min offensive and defensive collapse in the 3rd. Maybe they wanted this game a bit too much, tried too hard and played a bit too much hero ball when things weren't going their way. If you're going to get blown out, get blown out on the opponent's floor after you've taken 1 game off them already. I think we have 3 days to regroup and it's game on on our floor.

If we don't take both G3 + 4 at home, it's not only not over but we're back to needing to take at least one and maybe two on the road. The split is definitely a good outcome but basically it gives us a modest edge going into our homecourt. Lot of work to be done.

I hate to call anything a must, but if the Celtics are down 2-1 and the Bucks get home court back, it's really hard to imagine them then going 3-1 or 3-0. But if they can take care of business at home, now, I think the Bucks can be rattled.
