They were the lower seed that split the first two games on the road.    If you asked most people before the series if they'd be alright with that outcome, I'm pretty sure almost everyone would.    Series have ebbs & flows and we've seen a lot of it so far.  I don't see anything to be alarmed about yet with the next two games being in Boston.

This is what I meant by standing in their own way. Whenever they're not expected to do something, they look like world-beaters, but as soon as they are expected to do something, they fall apart.

This one was not on Kyrie either, because I expected the Bucks to focus on him whether he's sick or not.

It really is a thing all year when they think they're really good...they stop doing the little things that made them good, or don't match the intensity.

They all knew that team was embarrassed and desperate, and still...

To bring this whole thing back to the original post... Paul Pierce is fine on TV, but his “intentional ridiculous hot take guy” gimmick is doing his broadcasting career a disservice.  He knew [dang] well calling himself better than wade was ridiculous and he knew [dang] well calling this series over after 1 game was moronic.   I get they are trying to get attention to the show and have him play a character, but he’s painting himself as a complete idiot and it’s a bad look.  Bummer seeing him intentionally become the butt of jokes.

Well, it works out alright for Barkley and Steven A. so i'm fine with it.

Plus people have always not given him his due, and quick to take any little thing from him, and saying snarky mess about him all the time. I have never heard ANYONE say something positive about Paul except some players, so he doesn't owe anybody anything.

And bulletin board material...teams in the playoffs are gonna be tougher, more desperate and sometimes embarrassed, so they don't belong there if they can't handle a motivated team.

I'm pretty sure every team is motivated to play the Warriors, and they handle their business.

This also shows the value of Smart, and getting deep in the playoffs is about intangibles, and having good shooters are just not enough.

this is nothing new for Paul Pierce.  He called himself the best player in basketball after being named finals MVP.  He told the media the Nets cant guard him right before the ECF finals start.

Him saying he had a better career than DWade shouldnt surprise anyone familiar with Paul, whether you agree with him or not.  Hes a cocky SOB and hes not afraid to show it.  I dont think this is some gimmick hes developed for TV

Ill give you the, this series is over, comment.  Yes, that was a dumb, talking head, hot take.  But I view it as seperate, and its nothing different than what we see Charles Barkley do, hes just not as charismatic about it and Barkley just takes himself a lot less seriously

PP now says KL may end up the best two way player to ever play the game after he admits that KL probably has a better career than him.

I noticed that this is a segment ESPN does playing on the Truth moniker PP earned during his career.  I wonder how serious they are about this segment. It is putting PP on the spot, and will expose him to a lot of criticism. Why not have the other two ex-players on there give their own opinions about comparisons with other players.

I'd take my track record over Paul's all day.  Dude doesn't know what he's talking about.  I've been proven right time and time again.  Paul Pierce is the Dwayne Wade to my Paul Pierce.  Give me that platform he's been gifted and I'd easily have viral hot takes that would be vastly superior to his.  It's over.
