It is over

Bucks best chance was having everyone healthy. Brogdon is a key loss

their regular season format of using Giannis as "bait" ....double team early, does not work against a smart team

Bucks don't have that "other" player,  teams may need an extra eye on, that can free up Giannis

Celtics beat bucks in a 5 or 6
Brogdon is really becoming 2009 KG at this point.

...where the team is so far unbeaten in the playoffs, but by the time the game is over people are talking about who they want to get rid of while drooling over someone who doesn't want to be here.

Had me looking for other Celtic forums, and makes me think I know the reason SB nation gave this site the boot.

SB Nation:  "Take your sorry, miserable, depressing, know-it-all butts, and get thaaaaa.....

Yeah, that's not the reason.

Wanna try again?

Nope...that's good enough for me  :)  When someone gets fired, they're never told the real reason.

Actually, there was a whole discussion & dialogue about why the forums had to break off from SB Nation but feel free to continue to believe whatever nonsense you want to.

Seriously though, all that trade mess should have it's own thread or something. It's something no one here has control over, and sick of reading it.

Some people are just old school...I don't want every good player to play here...I want us to BEAT them.

Yeah, some people are just old school, mainly in the GET OFF MY LAWN type of way.

Yeah, no...i'm not that type, but my views are from a competitive standpoint and always will be.

And guys, i'm not talking about only this thread, but "Celtics talk".

so...you're the one derailing this thread by mentioning trade talk.

The exact thing you are complaining about. got it....makes total sense....

No...you derail it because you can't take my post at face value and just move on.

Since I been here my posts are about continuity, growing and learning how to win with players that WE drafted and are worth it talent wise.

That's it.

I don't know what else to tell you.

The 3 players we drafted are not Ron mercer and not throw away players like people make it seem. Don't get mad cause I don't buy the Durant way.

And don't worry, I get your opinion loud and clear. You like our young players. And it's ok that you have no idea what my opinion on the subject is, won't make a difference to your "discussion" anyways.

BTW, what is your opinion on this thread? Do you think "it's over"? Is Paul pierce a homer blowhard? I haven't heard you comment on this topic...ya know, the topic we are discussing. Mine is on the second page I think.

Well Paul's my dude and I know why he says what he says, because he has a competitor's mentality and doesn't tow the company line, or care.

The only way this becomes a series is if we stand in our own way, and lord knows we're very capable of that.

And lol at grumpy ol man.  If we could actually post without being censored then maybe you would have a better feel of where i'm coming from...or my age.

Think maybe Chris tucker without the high pitch  :)

I already posted I agreed with him, and there's not many threads running at the same time, so I don't know why you wouldn't have seen that yesterday.

Also, i'm pretty sure right now you wouldn't be able to stop one thing I could do on the court...don't care if you're 6 8 or up.

Not bad for a grumpy ol man  :)  and it's why I don't worship these players the same way this board does.

That's right...one post about what I think...not your opinion, and it woulda stayed that way until people responded to it, so now you're gonna turn around and act like i'm spamming the thread.

But in reality it was other grumpy old men who couldn't contain themselves with the passive-agressive mess passing the buck, wasn't it?

And throwing weak insults...so my post was goofy and childish but you got my point and said so, but keep going on with bs, taking yourself so serious to the point you try to ridicule someone for not needing big brother to tell a grown man what to say about a kids game?

You know, all you had to do was scroll by my post if it bothered you so much because all these "different" threads say the same thing, basically.

What I think is some of you are clickish, high-schoolish, and love to hear yourselves talk.

Long-winded blow-hards that post in circles. I can do that too.

Heard this take from Mike Lynch at channel 5 here in Boston. It's kinda along the lines of what Pierce said but with conditions.

He said if the Bucks can't score 100 points again tonight, the series is over. I guess his logic is there is no way Milwaukee can beat Boston if they aren't scoring their normal high amount of points.

I see where he is coming from and think it's a good point, but of course, it's not over til it's over.

I think it is over.
Game 1 is over.

Giannis played about as bad as he can possibly play.  He's been able to cook us normally.  Gonna be hard to get him to keep playing that bad.  Maybe he got use to playing trash Detroit defense and needs to adjust.
Giannis did not play "about as bad as he can possibly play". He scored 4 less than he's been averaging this post-season run, which has mainly been games against a weak Detroit team where the points have come easy. He shot worse than usual, but he also hit 3x the amount of threes he normally would. His foul shooting has been bad all postseason.

He's coming up against an elite defensive coach who has had days to figure out what amounts to a plan to stop Giannis, and Al + Baynes executed it perfectly. Giannis shot 2-10 when defended by those two. He didn't play excellently, but I'm not sure you're giving Stevens and our players enough credit. I'm not sure what Giannis can do to get back into the 25-35 point range. Hit more threes??

Sure, he might hit a few more of those contested layups, but I don't think the difference between him being somewhat shut down vs him scoring 30 is what made us victorious by 22.

Besides all of the stats LarBrd33 already mentioned, Giannis also played only 28 minutes per game in the Detroit series. He averaged 33.5 per 36 minutes.
Yeah, I get that. What I'm saying is that Giannis didn't just mysteriously play badly. He was able to coast against a handicapped Detroit team who has no wing defence and an interior presence prone to mental collapses.

Now he comes up against a fearsome defence with players equipped to both defend him and defend his shooters. I just don't expect Giannis to play much better barring terrible officiating / an injury to Al. Regardless of his freakish nature he has quite a limited offensive game.

Happier we're playing him than Kawhi.
Like I said... was 1 game.  Giannis played as bad as he can possibly play.
