Comical. Everyone in the East improves by a huge margin but Boston....who is pretty much just waiting on
AD.

Really a very frustrating thing to see....an no I do not think they can win the east as constructed. Bench is a liability.

While the assets that were going to be used in a deal are declining in value.

That Clippers pick and memphis pick AND the sacramento pick have all lost value.

So Danny will have to sell the farm to try and get Davis...

This can be crippling to franchise long term...

How in the world did the memphis pick lose value? They didn't get any young prospects or anyone that can help them in the next year. Their one young piece is jackson.

this pick is protected until 2021
top 8
top 6
unprotected

I expect them to be bottom 5 this season, and probably next, then with capspace and youth will make a hard puch to improve in 2021....just like Sacramento did.

That pick will be outside of the top 10, in 3 years time

So what buyout pickup do we get? Kanter? Ellington? Matthews? Kaminsky?

I wonder if AB is getting bought out. He'd be a good backup.
Sounds like Matthews is going to Indy.

I’d say Kanter to the Cs. Otherwise, maybe Ellinbtgton but I think he’s be a great fit on Philly.

Guys, you don't find it amusing that the Celts traded a Bird to the Hawks?

I mean really?

Is Ainge trying to be funny?

Sources: Despite dealing Jabari Bird, the Boston Celtics will not avoid the luxury tax this season. Boston is now likely to use their MLE to sign a player to a big two-year deal, with the idea of having the second season as part of salary matching in a trade for Anthony Davis.

So if it works out... maybe we can keep Smart AND Brown in a trade? (While dealing Tatum, Williams + MLE guy + picks)?  :o

AB's game has fallen off a cliff. I'd prefer Ellington and/or Kanter (assuming we could open up roster spots).

Was Perk and Nate for Green and Kristic the last big move Ainge made at the trade deadline?

Can't believe that was 8 years ago.

Was IT a trade deadline deal?

Yes, he was.

That's right, forgot about that. Back in 2015. It was Marcus Thornton and a 2016 1st rounder for Isaiah.

Fultz to Orlando

For Simmons, a 1st and a 2nd.

Simmons killed us last game. Right?

The Memphis pick we got is a golden egg IMO.

No way the Pels will agree to an AD trade without that Memphis pick.

NOP will want every single pick, and at least 2 young pieces, and salary to match.

but that pick will not convey for 3 years.

depends on the MLE and if Pels even want said guy.

We will be deep into Lux tax by 2020 though.

The Grizzlies are keeping Mike Conley, league sources tell ESPN. Memphis discussed deals with multiple teams, but ultimately decided to hold onto their franchise point guard.

One factor in the Grizzlies not trading Mike Conley: They value him as a mentor for Jaren Jackson Jr., a 19-year-old being groomed as the future face of the franchise. Conley was not eager to leave Memphis.

The MLE guy would be a pure salary match. Whether or not they want him is irrelevant. Doubt we wanted Gerald Wallace, but you make the math work.
