I was curious what people on here thought about a future trade scenario.

If the Celtics season was faltering at (roughly) the half-way point of the season. Would you trade Paul George to Golden State for Jimmy Butler (salary dump) and multiple picks? And if so, how many picks would it take for you to be happy with the trade return?

If PG is playing well enough to garner multiple picks than the Cs will not be faltering. The roster as its currently constructed will win plenty of reg season games even if Tatum/PG/White where to miss time. The entire season comes down to the health of the top half of the roster in the playoffs.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
Dump George for an expiring contract and picks?  Absolutely, although I'd try to reroute Butler for a long-term piece.

Why for Golden Syate, though?

Yeah, no way this happens. Not even if they?re 2nd round picks. I actually like George?s fit on the Celtics, but we aren?t getting a shorter contract and picks for him
