Good. Bird's sorry butt is gone. Now they have an open spot for a buyout victim. Get Ellington or Kanter

Comical. Everyone in the East improves by a huge margin but Boston....who is pretty much just waiting on
AD.

Really a very frustrating thing to see....an no I do not think they can win the east as constructed. Bench is a liability.

While the assets that were going to be used in a deal are declining in value.

That Clippers pick and memphis pick AND the sacramento pick have all lost value.

So Danny will have to sell the farm to try and get Davis...

This can be crippling to franchise long term...

How in the world did the memphis pick lose value? They didn't get any young prospects or anyone that can help them in the next year. Their one young piece is jackson.

Thats a good haul for Fultz
The fact that he's a #1 means his salary is a bit uncomfortable, but he's 20 years old. I'm glad he's gone from Philly. He's had zero impact, but I always worried he was a grenade that might go off. He may never be a significant NBA player, but if he ever got his head together, Philly would have been impossibly loaded.
Looks to me like ORL got fleeced.  Fultz isn't even as good as Simmons alone right now, then a couple picks too.  Maybe Fultz will surprise everyone with the change in scenery, but I'm willing to bet against it.

Sources: Despite dealing Jabari Bird, the Boston Celtics will not avoid the luxury tax this season. Boston is now likely to use their MLE to sign a player to a big two-year deal, with the idea of having the second season as part of salary matching in a trade for Anthony Davis.

So what buyout pickup do we get? Kanter? Ellington? Matthews? Kaminsky?

I wonder if AB is getting bought out. He'd be a good backup.

The Memphis pick we got is a golden egg IMO.

No way the Pels will agree to an AD trade without that Memphis pick.

It means we don't want to trade Smart to NOP

means they sign someone like kanter to enough money not to have to trade someone like smart.   good plan, danny.

So if it works out... maybe we can keep Smart AND Brown in a trade? (While dealing Tatum, Williams + MLE guy + picks)?  :o
