@AdamHimmelsbach

Per sources, the Pelicans have reached out to the Celtics seeking promises on specific AD packages. The Cs have been reluctant to do that 5 months early, but have made it clear no one is off limits and that it’ll be worth the wait

Quote
Sources said the Pelicans have sought guarantees from the Celtics surrounding specific packages, but the Celtics have been reluctant to make absolute promises, simply because so much can transpire in five months, such as injuries. Nevertheless, sources said, the Celtics have made it clear that they will be ready and willing to offer an explosive package when the time arrives, and that no specific player will be off limits in negotiations.

So New Orleans tries to pressure the Celtics. Don't like that. We should not give up our whole young core (Rozier/Smart/Brown/Tatum/Williams + 4 picks) this summer. That's outrageous. Let them deal with the Lakers if they like it enough.

Ainge will never give up 4 picks and all those young players you mentioned.

I think Ainge will make the Pels choose between Tatum and Brown.
Can't lose both Brown and Tatum plus Smart.
That's just too much.

New Orleans GM Dell Demps has had no communication today with Lakers president Magic Johnson on LA's most recent trade offer for Anthony Davis, league sources tell ESPN. Lakers running low on hope that Pelicans will engage them before Thursday's 3 PM trade deadline.

No but it sounds like NOLA values Tatum as much as Ainge values AD

In LA today, Lakers Fans and Sports Radio hosts were complaining non-stop about "the collusion" against the Lakers, how it's not fair that teams aren't trading with them. First it was Paul George, then Kawhi and now AD. The entire league is out to get the Lakers.

Mychal Thompson went on to say that the Lakers should threaten the revenue sharing streams, that if no one will trade with them then they should pay less into the bigger pot, that a healthier & winning Lakers team is better for NBA owners and monies.

The other main topic is how much Magic didn't want to draft Lonzo, how he wanted Fox but Jeannie Buss made the call to draft the local star. Pretty obvious that Magic is spreading this one.

Massive meltdowns pretty much non-stop. I was laughing non-stop

Watching how dominant Giannis has become, reminds why it is so important to Ainge to get AD. Hard to compete with Bucks otherwise.

Lakers fans freaking out on LakersGround.net  ;D

It's funny - they're calling Demps unprofessional for his "unreasonable" demands and refusal to even engage with LA, yet they don't even mention Lebron openly tampering with AD or all of the KlutchSports drama. Lakers fans are clueless lol

i have seen a few rebuttals from the minority who think James is ultimately going to hurt LA in the mid - long .  They don't like Klutch , think Lebron is using the Lakers , not really caring about players , team, fans ....these threads are locked within a few posts .  The undying faithful have a meltdown when these posters with an alternate view express their opinion.  so you got to be quick to catch any of this .  But the hate is amazing for anybody suggesting, everything Magic , Pelinka , Klutch does is possibly wrong .  SMH

Now a new leak of how NYK is as preferred as the Lakers. Trying to see if they can get traded before the deadline I guess and hoping the Knicks can swing it with mostly picks.

Edit: and the obligatory anti-Boston stance is again stated.

Anthony Davis has the Knicks on equal footing with the Lakers in terms of teams he is interested in signing with long-term, @NYTSports has learned. The Clippers and Bucks also remain preferred destinations on his list

Lol the story and AD's "preferences" change day to day now, apparently.

At this point, it literally just seems that he's (i.e. both AD and Klutch) doing whatever he can to get out of NOLA by tomorrow. Perhaps he realized that his plan backfired, and now he's going to waste half a season in NOLA because he played his hand wrong.

Quote
Sources say Davis, meanwhile, remains adamant that he will not sign a long-term deal with Boston if the Celtics trade for him in July and that he would like to play out the rest of the season for the Pelicans if there's no trade by tomorrow's deadline

They're also still pushing this nonsense trying to discourage NOLA from waiting.

There's just no logic behind this, as no reasoning has come out about why AD would not want Boston long-term. The only reason that has been given is this belief that Kyrie might leave, but it's pretty clear that if we trade for AD, then Kyrie is going nowhere.

Unless AD just wants the spotlight of a LA or New York, which seems completely out of line with his character, we offer him the best chances at both short- and long-term success, which is supposedly what he is prioritizing. I imagine the tune will completely change after the deadline and AD and his group realize that a trade to Boston is inevitable, so long as nothing changes between now and then. There's just no logical reason that has been given why AD would categorically refuse to sign here.

It's just hilarious how obvious and planted all of these "reports" are, as the narrative changes every single time a negative report comes out about LA's chances of trading for AD.

I find the Laker complaining funny. The simple reality is they just don't have the pieces to acquire the top 10 level players. If they would have taken Tatum instead of Ball, Davis would already be a Laker and that is just the simple reality.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Bigs - Shaquille O'Neal, Victor Wembanyama
Wings -  Lebron James
Guards - Luka Doncic

I work with some knowledgeable Lakers fans and they never wanted LBJ in the first place. The hate is real and it's only going to get worse. (for the record, they hate the AD trade. They want to build into a long-term franchise again)
