In the Anthony Davis column, I'm told Jayson Tatum has definitely been discussed in Pelicans-Celtics talks. Both sides know that he'd be a major part of the discussion in June

I hope this doesn't affect JT's game going forward. I don't think Danny would be this irresponsible, knowing it could leak and eventually affect JT just as the Lakers players mentioned in the supposed AD trade.

"has been discussed" is so ambiguous lol. But if Ainge cashes in Tatum for Davis, so be it

Jayson Tatum is expected to play a "major part" in trade discussions involving the New Orleans Pelicans and Boston Celtics for Anthony Davis this summer, according to Sam Amick.

The 20-year-old has already been "discussed extensively" by both teams.

The Lakers reportedly pulled out of trade discussions earlier today after the Pelicans asked for as many as 8 draft picks.

Major part. I feel that there is mutual interest between Celtics and pelicans, whereas the Lakers and pelicans doesn't sound mutual. We are likely to get Davis. Fireworks in the off season will be back..

We need to start thinking about which free agent veterans we can surround our new superstar core

Lakers could potentially go after players like Bradley Beal and/or Nikola Vucevic and potentially flip them in the summer for AD, especially now that it seems like the Pelicans won't deal AD....although it is likely that they’ll at least revisit negotiations tomorrow.

Pelicans 50-50 on Anthony Davis, Lakers trade right now.
Could truly go either way.

Polarizing decision.
Some love Lakers haul of players/picks.
Others will chastise them for lack of patience.
Same goes for waiting, especially if Boston offer isn’t as strong as expected.

Wonder if this is real or a ploy to get Celtics to commit Tatum today.

Everyone is reading these headlines and losing their minds because "4 picks plus young players, that's so much!" but meanwhile, none of the young players are guys that I'm confident will ever make an all star team and none of the picks would be any good. The LA offer isn't as great as it sounds.

Yeah, I've heard a couple people bring up the Sac pick because it's not going to be as good as we hoped but they leave out how the Memphis pick is going to be very good to great.

The New Orleans Pelicans still haven't responded on the Los Angeles Lakers' most recent trade proposal for Anthony Davis, league sources tell ESPN. Pelicans have yet to engage L.A. on trade talks. Deadline is nearly 24 hours away.

Woj has a trade deadline special at 5:00pm
Wonder what he will say

I don't think so. They want the pels to show a pulse and make a counter offer. If they don't you can bet the Lakers will be on the horn again by the deadline tomorrow. They also don't want to appear desperate but they will be.

you know it's going to go down to the wire. The Pels want the lakers to suffer as much as possible.

Danny had a sit down with both Jayson and Jaylen discussing the realities of trade season and what to expect and how best to get through it.

They both have continued to play well since that meeting as they have both been playing great for a couple months.

Huge difference between LA and BOS, in terms of how toxic LA's locker room has become, and how ours is slowly rising up in the playoff ladder. Ainge is always willing to communicate and be realistic. Johnson probably avoids confrontation, and just does trades involuntarily without even mentioning or saying anything.

My guess is that Tatum would embrace a trade and would rise to the challenge of leading his own team.
