I hope this doesn't affect JT's game going forward. I don't think Danny would be this irresponsible, knowing it could leak and eventually affect JT just as the Lakers players mentioned in the supposed AD trade.

They both have continued to play well since that meeting as they have both been playing great for a couple months.

Huge difference between LA and BOS, in terms of how toxic LA's locker room has become, and how ours is slowly rising up in the playoff ladder. Ainge is always willing to communicate and be realistic. Johnson probably avoids confrontation, and just does trades involuntarily without even mentioning or saying anything.

How could the Lakers NOT give in and offer New Orleans whatever they want at this point? There is no fixing that locker room now.

Per sources, the Pelicans have reached out to the Celtics seeking promises on specific AD packages. The Cs have been reluctant to do that 5 months early, but have made it clear no one is off limits and that it’ll be worth the wait

"Specific AD packages" + "reluctant" = Jayson Tatum!

And it's clear New Orleans shares this sentiment.

Not shocking. I'm sure NOLA wants to be sure they don't end up with egg on their faces in the summer i.e. passing on the Lakers deal and then Danny tries to lowball them. The question now becomes do they get ansty because Danny won't make a promise now?

According to league sources, the Pelicans reached out to the Celtics this week to discuss the framework of a possible Davis deal, ostensibly to ensure that if they pass up on other offers before Thursday’s deadline, it would be for good reason.

Sources said the Pelicans have sought guarantees from the Celtics surrounding specific packages, but the Celtics have been reluctant to make absolute promises, simply because so much can transpire in five months, such as injuries. Nevertheless, sources said, the Celtics have made it clear that they will be ready and willing to offer an explosive package when the time arrives, and that no specific player will be off limits in negotiations.

Boston has been undeterred by the persistent narrative emerging from Davis’s camp that if the All-Star is traded to the Celtics he would not re-sign with them when he becomes a free agent in 2020. The belief is that once he and Irving are together, any unease that either of them has about the future would be washed away.

The one way the Celtics could acquire Davis now would be by trading Irving first, but league sources said they have made it clear to other teams that Irving is off-limits.

I think LA's problem may reside with the fact that they believe LeBron is in on these trade discussions. It's one thing for the GM to talk about trades because that happens all the time and every team goes threw it. However, it's different when the player next to you is in on deciding your future and trust becomes an issue.

Reading between the lines. If we want to pair Irving and Davis, then that means Irving is off limits. I don't see Danny trading Hayward because of the message it would send. The player with the highest trade value is Tatum. So without naming any specific player, Danny basically told New Orleans that their willing to trade anyone not named Irving and Hayward, which puts Tatum on the we're willing to trade list.

I would think any trade has to start with Tatum and Smart, with Smart included as being the main piece to help match up salaries. I don't think Danny would give up Jaylen Brown too. Maybe Robert Williams and various draft picks.

I saw Ingram last night shooting FT s at Indy .  Pacers crowd ,  had a huge chant going on.  " Lebron wants to trade you !". over and over as he shot freethrows.  You could see it in his eyes ,  he heard it .  He looked a bit sadden by it all.  Kinda felt for the kid.  Yeah ....thats the type stuff that goes on under a " Bron Regime ".   I swear he looked like he was going to tear up.

So New Orleans tries to pressure the Celtics. Don't like that. We should not give up our whole young core (Rozier/Smart/Brown/Tatum/Williams + 4 picks) this summer. That's outrageous. Let them deal with the Lakers if they like it enough.
