The name that really surprises me in all of these rumors is Rondo.  I would think both LeBron and Davis would be pushing to keep him, since it seem both enjoy playing with him.  And I would think the Lakers wouldn't want to trade both Ball and Rondo, leaving them with no PG, no trade assets left to acquire one, and a currently bare buyout market.

[Wojnarowski] Beyond the Lakers and Knicks, the Pelicans have been made aware of "a handful" of teams that Anthony Davis would be willing to sign long-term with upon a trade, league sources tell ESPN. Boston isn't included on that list.

Anyone else find it particularly surprising that Mr Davis, someone who is looking for a high performance team, has put the Knicks on his long term contract destination?

I get that it's really no one's business where he wants to play, but if you're going to give people an audience, don't insult our intelligence.

They need to send a lot of expiring deals to make the money work. I imagine its a math issue that he needs to be in the deal if the Pelicans are going to shed as much salary as possible.

My guess is NO is going to force Danny to promise Tatum if they hold off until the summer.

I would not trade Tatum for AD because of there is no real promise he resigns with Boston. Not worth the chance.

Would rather just stay as is keep building with the draft.

To get off the long term money they have left in Hill.

Just heard on NBA radio that the Lakers have offered:
Baall, Kuzma, Ingram, Stevenson, Rondo & Beasley plus two 1st round picks (no details)

for Davis & Solomon Hill (bad contract)

I think they will take it.

They should. The they will get matthews and jordan off buyouts and jave a hell of a team

They would add Anthony also. Let Lebron run the point like he wants to do.

Yeah, I get the money part, but you would think LeBron would be telling KCP to waive his NTC as a favor for getting him that contract in the first place.

It is realistic Boston is going to make 3 picks in the first round this draft. Yeesh...a younger team gets younger.

Kyrie, Gordon and Al would be huge going forward. Rozier prolly exits as a RFA and I would like to see Morris resigned in that situation. Just hope Kyrie doesn't bail.

No AD likely no Kyrie either. He will bolt for Knicks or another team. If Ainge wants AD as bad as has been reported, he may have to have a leap of faith and offer Tatum. With AD onboard, Kyrie probably re-signs. But I see your point, Danny is in a tough spot right about now.

They have a ton of cap space. The idea has to be that if he goes to New York, he can handpick an All-Star buddy to join him in the summer. New York makes me the most nervous, because I think Kyrie will seriously consider them if AD is there. If they don't get AD, I don't think he even takes a call from them in free agency.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

If I am New Orleans, this package is the baseline of what I would accept for Davis. It's a pupu platter of young role players with very low likelyhood of becoming all stars, along with a couple draft picks in the 20s and salary cap relief veterans.

There is not a single all star in that package to build around. Boston can still beat that offer with a package that includes Tatum (high likelyhood of being an all star soon) and the Memphis pick (assuming it roles over a year), plus a combination of other players picks.

If I am NO, I still wait to hear the best offers at draft time / this summer. I think he Lakers package will still be there.

That depends on how we do in the playoffs.
