Beyond the Lakers and Knicks, the Pelicans have been made aware of "a handful" of teams that Anthony Davis would be willing to sign long-term with upon a trade, league sources tell ESPN. Boston isn't included on that list.

10:45 AM - 4 Feb 2019

ALL of this is just to try to scare Boston away so the Pels only deal with the Lakers. Rich Paul doing everything to try to get Danny to back away. From the Kyrie crap to this...

Also trying to signal to NO that Boston is not going to offer much this summer or they will back away.

Klutch working hard to make Demps think that the BOS offer won't be on the table or at least the good offer won't be.

Alternately other teams stepped up their tampering game to match LeBron's, which I found doubtful.

Hahaha but in no circumstances is he signing an extension, just going to opt out in 2020 and be "willing" to stay there. To put into perspective, Kyrie telling season-ticket holders he planned to resign meant very little; this means about 1/100th of that.

Eh, who cares. WE WON THE SUPER BOWL!!

Red Sox > Dodgers in 5

Pats > LA Chargers

Pats > LA Rams

Screw LA!  8)

And anyways it seems likely NOP won't trade him before the deadline. I'm pretty sure they know LA will offer them the same packages this summer too so why rush.

If this fool feels there are a handful of teams better than the Celtics....forget him.

This guy doesn't want to win. He's more worried about everything else.

Trade Kyrie for DeAndre Jordan and let him walk this offseason. Keep all the parts and keep it moving.

I'm p---ed now because AD hasn't won anything and he's thumbing his nose at the Celtics. Let's get out of all the drama NBA and play ball.

Danny Ainge sees Woj's tweet, frowns slightly and then continues to make preparations to trade for Davis in the summer.

Yeah I'm beginning to feel the same way. Just move on. He doesn't want to be here so why bother. Way too much drama involved already. Let's just enjoy this season and see what happens in the playoffs and go from there (we've looked A LOT better lately). Who cares about the Lakers. We need to worry about the East and reaching the Finals, not what goes on with the Lakers.

That Kyrie trade proposal though is awful. SMH. It's like you want us bounced in the first round.

Trading Kyrie for Jordan seems impulsive & foolish.

You don't give up on a 3 year plan to acquire a MVP caliber player because his agent is putting out negative press releases via Woj.

Danny certainly has to have a backup direction to pivot to if the Davis situation does not work out. But don't let the dribble of Klutch/NoP leaks make you despair.

Yup, this team is trying to win this year. You don't blow up this team unless you've been delivered a trade demand even if you are pessimistic about how FA plays out.

Kyrie is going to leave and we can't get anything for him. Ainge had to call him in and just float the idea that AD may not be possible and see how he reacts.

Woj's past leaks seem to be from the Pelicans FO side, the message is framed from their perspective and seems more geared toward driving up the price and expanding options than driving it down and narrowing them. I think it's them soliciting more offers and including a reason they might not care to wait for us.

then something needs done now to get a more long term answer at center than Horford.

no matter the report that comes out its always stated its Rich Paul posturing.

I dont see how its possible for a single agent to reach pretty much every single insider/outlet stating the same sort of thing.

Seems more likely there is truth to the rumors than fiction

Assuming that its true and the list as expanded then its still something Klutch/Davis had to tell NoP. Which is why I assume this is a plan to discount whatever Ainge has promised Demps, no matter who leaked it.

I don't think the Pelicans would burn Woj by lying.
