Brad Turner: Hearing from sources if Lakers want Anthony Davis, who has requested a trade, LA has to start the deal with Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, Ivica Zubac, No. 1 pick. –

They would do that without thinking twice.

Don’t think that’s nearly enough though.
If I am the Lakers I do that in a heartbeat. And I am dancing and singing.

Trade Kyrie and whatever for Davis. Do it now.

Not happening.

The intention is pairing Kyrie with Davis.  Not trading one away for the other.

Kyrie is replaceable. Davis is not.

Oh yeah?  Who are you replacing Kyrie with & pairing with AD and becoming a bonafide championship contender?

This a star driven league.  Multi-star teams are the ones winning championships.  You pair Kyrie & AD and build around that.    Ainge isn't shipping Kyrie out of town to bring in AD.

Want to bet? Ainge will trade Kyrie in a heartbeat, if he can get Davis. Kyrie is overrated. Wings and bigs win championships, not point guards. If we get Davis for Kyrie, we have a young core that will be together for years.

NOP wouldn’t want Kyrie, as he’d be gone by July 2nd.

So Ainge would have to send Kyrie elsewhere (either on a 3-team trade or a separate deal first).

Do you know what kind of fire Ainge would be playing with if he started calling other teams shopping Kyrie? Word would eventually get out, and you think he’s the type that will not have a problem with that come July?

So basically, if he starts making calls, he BETTER trade him. I don’t know who other than the Knicks would give up a lot for him (maybe the Nets?), and I don’t see what they have that we or NO would want. Maybe Russell and Dinwiddie for Kyrie... then Russell, Brown and filler plus a couple picks for Davis?

Kyrie and Brown for AD and Dinwiddie? Then you have to trust Rozier to handle PG duties for the foreseeable future (which wouldn’t be the worst thing with Hayward, Horford, Smart, and Davis all capable facilitators).

Is that enough to keep AD here longterm?

On top of that, that'd be two players (Isaiah Thomas and Kyrie Irving) that have declared they wanted to stay in Boston that Ainge would turn around and ship out shortly after.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

Oh, I would absolutely bet that.   Danny is not trading Kyrie for AD.  Not happening.

Look...not only do you have to trade for AD...you have to resign him. He is not resigning in Boston if Kyrie is traded away. He is not resigning to play with Terry Rozier.

AD isn't staying if Kyrie is gone.  AD wants to win championships and stars win championships not young unproven cores.  If we have to trade Kyrie and most of our assets to get AD, it would be difficult to acquire another star of Kyrie's caliber.  Kyrie is well respected and he has a championship already.

Lakers and Celtics have been linked to him for awhile. What other teams are out there?  The Sixers for Simmons makes some sense, but is there anyone else?  And if the Sixers do offer Simmons I think they take that trade as Simmons is the best prospect out there.  I don't think the Bucks have the pieces but pairing him with Giannis would be a nightmare for the league to deal with.  Like the Bucks I don't think the Raptors have the pieces, but that would be interesting as well.  Would the Knicks offer the Zinger and if so would Davis be happy there (and would NO take the risk on the Zinger)?

Just not a lot of options and I don't think any if the western teams (outside the Lakers) have the pieces or would be appealing to Davis.

So unless Simmons is on the table I think they wait for Tatum in the summer

I hope the pels want to stick it to Rich Paul and his body!
No doubt he is whispering in ADs ear.

The Warriors  ;)  Seriously though if Durant leaves, S+T Klay, swap him and Dray for AD and like E'Twaun Moore and whatever makes salaries match. Warriors rebuild around Steph and AD. Unlikely but...

I've also seen some interesting hypotheticals where Butler goes to a team he'd resign with and N.O gets various good young players and picks.

If Irving is part of the deal... only way I can see it working

3 way trade scenerio 1
To Nets: Irving
To Celtics: Russell,  Dinwiddie

To Pel: Russell, Dinwiddie, R. Williams, Morris, multiple 2018 Celts 1sts
To Celtics: AD

3 way trade scenerio 2

To Knicks: Irving, R. WIlliams, 2nd picks
To Celtics: Porzingis, Knox, Kanter

To Pel: Porzingis, Knox, Morris, 2018 Celts 1st picks
To Celtics: AD

Lineup potential after trade

AD
Horford
Tatum
Brown
Rozier

Bench
Smart
Hayward

I get it about Isaiah and Kyrie, but what about all the other players that played out their contracts (and built up like Turner and Olynyk)?

Those are two examples on one end of the spectrum, but we have plenty more from the other end.

In an ideal world we stand pat and keep Kyrie, but being forced to sit back due to some stupid rule and letting AD go elsewhere (especially if it’s the Lakers) is disheartening.

Of course I want to pair them together, as I think they’d be a lethal duo. But if I had to build around just one, I have to take AD.

Ainge has known about this for a year. This is not news to him and he is the only one who can solve it for the team.

Ainge is not surprised about this and has a plan....along with 20 other GM's and agents.

If Davis goes to the Lakers, I am going to lose it. Just help another team get him...anywhere but, there.

Not getting AD by trading Kyrie. AD will want another star.

The Pels would be idiots to make the deal now. NOBODY can offer what Boston can. But will the give into Davis and his requests? That is the big question.

If Lakers giveup Kuzma, Ingram, Hart

Then no Celts cant beat that

Unless Kyrie is offered bc Danny is not going to trade Tatum plus Brown

Sure he would.

He will land on the Warriors for like Iggy, Looney, Jerebko, and a top-55 protected second.
