This crap is going to hang over the entire season now.  Everyone on the team knows they are a sitting duck.  Even a guy like Marcus Smart knows he’s probably the salary filler (unless it’s hayward or horford).  Every little locker room scuffle will be met with guys accusing each other of being trade bait... it’s our version of “I don’t have to listen to you - you’re not my real dad!” or kinda like when siblings accuse each other of being adopted.  “Shut up, my agent tells me you’re part of the trade package”.
everyone is excited but this will make this season suck

If Irving is part of the deal... only way I can see it working

3 way trade scenerio 1
To Nets: Irving
To Celtics: Russell,  Dinwiddie

To Pel: Russell, Dinwiddie, R. Williams, Morris, multiple 2018 Celts 1sts
To Celtics: AD

3 way trade scenerio 2

To Knicks: Irving, R. WIlliams, 2nd picks
To Celtics: Porzingis, Knox, Kanter

To Pel: Porzingis, Knox, Morris, 2018 Celts 1st picks
To Celtics: AD

Lineup potential after trade

AD
Horford
Tatum
Brown
Rozier

Bench
Smart
Hayward

Why move Smart to bench?

Not getting AD by trading Kyrie. AD will want another star.

Yeah, other than maybe some anti-Kyrie bias, I'm not getting the "Trade Kyrie for AD" crowd.

Multi-star teams are what wins championships in the NBA.  That's the landscape you're looking at here and its been that way for years. You team Kyrie up with AD.  You don't trade Kyrie for him.  Then you're back at square one searching for that 2nd star.  You don't trade Paul Pierce for Kevin Garnett.  You team the two up.

Everyone agrees with that.

What if we aren’t afforded that opportunity because New a Orleans decides they are moving him before the deadline?

Then Ainge may have to pick one or the other. And it’s not like we would not have anyone else, Horford is an All-Star and I believe AD would speed up Hayward’s return to that status as well.

But like I said in previous posts, it’s way too dangerous for Ainge to start dangling Kyrie because in this social media age, everything gets out. And once it does, I seriously doubt Kyrie resigns. So if he offers Kyrie to anyone, he HAS to deal him.

If I'm Danny, that's a bluff by New Orleans I'm willing to call.  I don't see it happening.

I also think there is zero chance Danny is offering Kyrie, to begin with.

Like I said, I think it’s too risky for him to offer Kyrie anywhere because he’s only got one year and only a select few teams would give up enough for him. So the risk of shipping him leaking to the public is far greater than him actually pulling off two blockbusters in 10 days.

As far as NOP bluffing, maybe. If I’m Ainge, I tell Demps my best offer this week. Tatum, Brown, MEM pick, a couple of ours, maybe even Williams. That’s what’s waiting for you in July.

If they panic and take an inferior package next week, then yes, we live with it.

I’d just hate to see him land in LA. Even if they gave up everything (Ingram, Kuzma, Ball, Hart), they’d still be lethal.

With this timing, I'd imagine Ainge having to start a conversation about Tatum being included to hold the line until the offseason.

To me,  he is THE guy NO should be asking for in the whole league.

So let's say NO does move him to LA. That dream then dies for Boston.

Where do the C's go? They would have 3 picks in this draft and an already young team. There is not a lot out there to trade for. Can't see their picks being good enough to package and move up in the draft.

So you are looking at adding some very young talent to this team. Not sure that helps now...maybe in 4 years or so.

Hate to break it to you, but you don't really have a say in this lol.

Bright side is we would have the 30 million dollar man still in Boston...so I guess they can afford to move out both young wings.

You dont either

I prefer to keep Tatum and Brown over Irving

You dont have Tatum, Brown, Rozier ...no way this unit makes ECF

You take out these three and replace with Irving.... I doubt it would get past either Bucks or 76ers

Its not only about offense Irving can provide.... but versatility from the wing at both ends plus age adv Tatum/Brown bring to the table

Easier said than done that they can be replaced/AD will easily fill their void

This is the perfect time for NO to get Lakers to go all in and then some. A ton of young players with upside and future picks and then the NO team can go into the tank as well. But there are other teams out there who can offer a lot for him right now...Embiid for Davis straight up works  as well...Porzingis and Kanter and boatload of picks works as well? Hey why not Thompson and parts so he can join the all star team in Golden State? Nothing would shock me here.

No matter how you look at this, this is bad timing for our team. We needed this to go until summer, my feeling is he will become a Lakers player now. Bummer

If Davis did request a trade now like is being reported, this also means he wants to become a Lakers or somewhere other then Boston as he wants out now and does not want to wait. He is also giving them plenty of notice as not to blindside them.
