I do not think you give up both young wings. Prefer it be Brown. But this is the plan AD and James hatched back when James was tampering with him.

Makes no sense to come out and say he wants a trade unless it is to make the Lakers move now because they know if they wait until summer, they do not have a good chance.

It was to but them ahead of Boston.

I'm sure Danny Ainge is wheeling and dealing as we speak trying to get them to hold off.

  • Let's Go Celtics!
The Pels would be idiots to make the deal now. NOBODY can offer what Boston can. But will the give into Davis and his requests? That is the big question.

If Lakers giveup Kuzma, Ingram, Hart

Then no Celts cant beat that

Unless Kyrie is offered bc Danny is not going to trade Tatum plus Brown

The Memphis 1st round pick alone is probably a better value asset than Lonzo Ball.

We can't beat that offer? You think that is better than Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Terry Rozier SnT, whoever we pick in the 2019 Draft using the Sacramento pick, Memphis 1st, Clippers 1st?

the reality is.... I can't see Danny trading Tatum

Brown and Rozier yes.  1st round picks yes

but Tatum no

Lets just hope Lakers feel the same about Kuzma.  And I don't think they care for Ball and his big mouth father .....  all that happens after his rookie deal is up and run back and join a LA area team

Why not? This is Anthony freaking Davis.

You do realize AD is only 25 years old, right? Him and Kyrie will be the core duo for the next 5-7 years. That's not worth giving up Jayson Tatum?

Exactly. Anyone who thinks Jayson Tatum can't be traded for Anthony Davis isn't paying attention. Danny's legit been stacking assets for this for years. He's not going to let a kid who may or may not become an All-Star stop him from acquiring the best big man in the game and perennial MVP candidate.

Does anyone think Danny has not already had talks with the Pelicans about AD?

I mean, yeah, the entire point of this is to try and get something done now, likely to the Lakers. But, again, it's not AD making the decision - it's NOLA. There's no reason for them to acquiesce to this request right now.

According to Woj, the Celtics can formally agree to a trade for AD that gets executed in June. Also, Pelicans prefer our package and don’t want to send AD to LA

So people can stop freaking out here. It makes no sense for NOLA to try and rush a trade right now. It benefits them in almost every single regard to sit AD for the time being and wait until the summer to seriously consider the trade, all while working the phones for potential packages with both Boston and LA right now.

NBA teams cannot just sit players.

Silver has stated teams have an obligation to play star players and has stated "significant penalties" to teams that do not oblige.

It's not like this would be NOLA unilaterally making this decision. It would be a joint decision by AD and NOLA who can't come to an agreement in the interim, and it would be termed in the context of an injury issue, as we've seen with other players like Kawhi.

Not happening.

The intention is pairing Kyrie with Davis.  Not trading one away for the other.

I hope NO does not cave. Seems players have been getting their ways a lot lately.

Yep.

Only way they trade AD now is if their camp comes out and say they won't sign anywhere else but the Los Angeles Lakers. And even then, they might just wait a year to see if we can still put on a better offer.

Can someone please inform me about Al's contract. Does he have one more year on it? How can they afford Al, Davis, Hayward and Kyrie all at once?

I know Davis doesn't have max money until he resigns in a year..

Kawhi sat...the spurs did not sit him

And it was super hard for the Spurs to prove he was fine even after medically clearing him. So if NO and AD both agree to sit him, it's even easier. The league can't and won't get involved unless NO files a claim. Thank you for proving the point.

What exactly do you think AD is going to do - insist on playing?? Why would he want to play the rest of the season and risk injury if he knows for a fact that (a) he's being traded in the summer, and (b) they're not doing anything in the playoffs anyways.

As long as NOLA doesn't cave and trade him before the deadline - which is highly likely that that they will due to it greatly benefiting them to wait until the offseason - both sides will voluntarily agree to either sit him the rest of the season or only play him minimally to avoid any further injury. It makes no sense otherwise.
