If Irving is part of the deal... only way I can see it working

3 way trade scenerio 1
To Nets: Irving
To Celtics: Russell,  Dinwiddie

To Pel: Russell, Dinwiddie, R. Williams, Morris, multiple 2018 Celts 1sts
To Celtics: AD

3 way trade scenerio 2

To Knicks: Irving, R. WIlliams, 2nd picks
To Celtics: Porzingis, Knox, Kanter

To Pel: Porzingis, Knox, Morris, 2018 Celts 1st picks
To Celtics: AD

Lineup potential after trade

AD
Horford
Tatum
Brown
Rozier

Bench
Smart
Hayward

Why move Smart to bench?

Not getting AD by trading Kyrie. AD will want another star.

Yeah, other than maybe some anti-Kyrie bias, I'm not getting the "Trade Kyrie for AD" crowd.

Multi-star teams are what wins championships in the NBA.  That's the landscape you're looking at here and its been that way for years. You team Kyrie up with AD.  You don't trade Kyrie for him.  Then you're back at square one searching for that 2nd star.  You don't trade Paul Pierce for Kevin Garnett.  You team the two up.

If Davis goes to the Lakers, I am going to lose it. Just help another team get him...anywhere but, there.
If that happens the forum should allow the use of bad language for a day.

Kyrie is not getting traded. He is a bargaining chip to KEEP AD in Boston if he does get traded.

To me, Kyrie, Tatum and AD are you big three and whatever Hayward can contribute is a bonus.

This crap is going to hang over the entire season now.  Everyone on the team knows they are a sitting duck.  Even a guy like Marcus Smart knows he’s probably the salary filler (unless it’s hayward or horford).  Every little locker room scuffle will be met with guys accusing each other of being trade bait... it’s our version of “I don’t have to listen to you - you’re not my real dad!” or kinda like when siblings accuse each other of being adopted.  “Shut up, my agent tells me you’re part of the trade package”.

How much money would Kyrie give up by signing an extension now? I know that's the one loophole we have to play to get a deal done now, but I'm under the impression that Kyrie signing an extension is nonstarter. Just curious about the #'s

What if we aren’t afforded that opportunity because New a Orleans decides they are moving him before the deadline?

Then Ainge may have to pick one or the other. And it’s not like we would not have anyone else, Horford is an All-Star and I believe AD would speed up Hayward’s return to that status as well.

But like I said in previous posts, it’s way too dangerous for Ainge to start dangling Kyrie because in this social media age, everything gets out. And once it does, I seriously doubt Kyrie resigns. So if he offers Kyrie to anyone, he HAS to deal him.

Is Leonard the ideal example you want to use? Because it's likely he walks away from Toronto after 1 seasno.

If I'm Danny, that's a bluff by New Orleans I'm willing to call.  I don't see it happening.

I also think there is zero chance Danny is offering Kyrie, to begin with.

"Well Dannys traded IT4, he cant be trusted" etc etc

He has to opt out of his current deal after the season. He cannot, under any circumstances, resign now.

According to Woj, the Celtics can formally agree to a trade for AD that gets executed in June. Also, Pelicans prefer our package and don’t want to send AD to LA

Pelicans prefer our package? which is what exactly

Brown and Rozier plus 3 decent picks?  None will be in the top 5, thanks to strong play of the Kings

I cant' see Danny including Tatum

Where have you been Triboy? Even Tatum’s father says he’d trade his son for AD? Get out from under your rock, my friend.

He can sign an extension now. But he'd be leaving a ton of money on the table.

PG13 the same

Teams are not going to let players dictate where they want to be traded to etc.

We haven't won anything.  We haven't even made it to the finals.  Star players recognize playing with other star players is how to make it to championships.  Kyrie is a star who was integral in winning a championship and getting to 3 other finals.  That carries a lot of weight.
