Ben Simmons had the worst +/- of any player in the Celtics/Sixers series

Can we just post this whenever someone talks about his empty stats?
I've got it saved ;)

That’s a crazy stat. Over a game or two, maybe it’s happenstance.

But for an entire series (that perhaps “only” went 5 because of his play) is actually pretty telling.

I just did that calculation for Tatum (entire playoffs).

On court: +55
Off court: -38

There’s your ROY right there, folks.

At his age the way he's playing is simply ridiculous. Do people remember JB in the playoffs? It took him until our first game against Cleveland to even score double digits. Crazy

Jaylen Brown > Ben Simmons and Brandon Ingram
Jayson Tatum > Markelle Fultz and Lonzo Ball

Ben Simmons says of TD Garden, "They talk a lot of **** to you ... It's hard to play here."

Amazing that the consensus ROY had to be benched for TJ McConnel for his team to even make it to a Game 5.

I am shocked how limited this idiot is.

Don’t be so shocked. I know a lot about basketball! One of the most important parts is being able to put the ball into the basket — an ability that Simmons does not possess yet.

Sorry, you cannot build a team around a PG that can’t shoot. The success of the pick and roll is due to the threat of going under the screen and eating a 3. If they can go under the pick and roll each time, you don’t have a pick and roll offense, which has been the staple NBA attack for about 30 years.

Im telling you guys that the only reason the last 2 games were close is TJ McConnell playing point. Not because Tj is a great player... but because the Sixers with an actual point guard are on par with our injured lineup.
Good move by B.Brown to bench Covington in favor of McConnell.  However, if he wanted to win the series, he should have also substituted Ilyasova for Simmons, but winning the series was not his goal.  He said it:  He was thinking long-term that he will live-or-die with his prized rookie PG and give him the experience.

IMO, Simmons should move to SF but obviously he needs to improve his shooting.

On the season his On-Off Plus/Minus was +7. But in the playoffs, a weakness this glaring and deep is too easily exploited by a smart defense. It's a little surprising now that Miami couldn't take bigger advantage of that.

Whiteside/Olynyk could not stay on the court against them.

This meant Miami could not single cover Embiid with anyone and they also couldn't stretch him out with their spacing 5. So the Heat couldn't do almost any of core strategy that Boston executed, this let the 76ers shooters go off in big ways.

The biggest flaw in Simmons game is that 33% of his shots from 3-10 feet, which is the highest percentage I've ever seen since I've been looking at the stat. He makes about 42% of them.

In other words, he relies on bad shots like floaters way too much. This probably happens because he is not willing to shoot a mid-range jumper, and instead barrels into a defender and throws up a prayer.

This is a really bad habit that can be broken, but I'm not sure he has the work ethic to do it. Right now, he only has two finishing moves - a dunk/layup and a crazy floater. If he has to take away some of his crazy floaters and replace them with mid-range jumpers or kickouts, his offense will degrade.
