What a huge nab for us, especially since it only cost us Hayward’s ankle!  :P

Seriously, though, if we add a Williams or Reke in addition to Moose, look out NBA, because we have a legitimate shot of hanging Banner 18 this year!

Now Ainge can move Yabu and 2018 Celtics #1 for Evans

Just one of those please.  Both would be overkill for a rental.
I don't see how it would be overkill, given that one of these two has zero trade value.

You don’t trade a young player you just brought over from Europe/China that you knew would spend most of the year in the G-League if he has zero trade value. You wait to see if the asset matured beyond zero. This was always going to be  a development year for him.

Nader on the other hand is prime trade filler.

Yes, but only Yabu has a salary that matches Evans.

I'm not worried whose playing time will be effected. Al has missed time with concussion like symptoms (or C's just being cautious), Morris missed time due to knee, Baynes is not a starting type player and Theiss is a pleasant surprise but still a bench player. If anyone gets hurt this is huge to have Monroe on the team. It's also a good option to give Al and Morris some maintenance time off as needed. Great pick up. Just wish we could get Tyreke but would settle for anyone (guard or wing) who can shoot the ball.
I think this would put us in the driver seat but Toronto is tough and Cleveland still has Lebron and guys who can score the ball. It's not a slam dunk trip to the finals but odds just got better for sure.

Yes, but you only brought Yabusele in because you ran out of options to sign warm bodies that are 6'8 or taller. He isn't an NBA player right now, and early indications are that he'll have the NBA career or someone like Semih Erden. There is no point in grooming someone who projects as mediocre to average NBA player in 4 years. Just go ahead and sign an average guy when you need one.

Monroe picks us!

Monroe will sign a one-year, $5M deal with Celtics, league sources tell ESPN. Pelicans could only offer $2.2M.

Woot!

YES! Moose in the house.

Conflicting info on whether we still have $3.4m to add a shooter

  • Peace it's a board. We all will never agree.
Joe Johnson may not cost us anything. We will be a desired buyout destination.
We shall see what Master DA does. Marco from ATL is also a rumor.

This is huge.  I don't think anyone realizes how good Greg Monroe actually is.

Yeah, I don't think why folks think he'd back up Horford and Baynes. I think he's instantly starting and playing 25+ a game. Theis and Baynes will split backup duty, and Tatum won't have to play PF for long stretches anymore. And we've likely seen the last of Semi O as a rotation regular, thank god.

That’s absurd.  Yabusele was chosen over keeping Jordan Mickey, and he was kept ahead of Ante Zizic.  He’s looked as advertised — a guy with a lot of raw talent who has a long way to go.  Who knows what will become of that talent, and ultimately it will help him to be traded somewhere that he has a chance to play, but he has value to NBA teams looking towards the future.

Can't split DPE, but it shouldn't matter. Swap Yabusele + pick for Evans and call it a deadline.

Do you genuinely believe that? You could add both and we wouldn't beat GS imo.  IF we got past LBJ (still doubtful imo), I'd expect a gentleman's sweep at best.  Our best player may not bew the 3rd best player in a series against GS.  It really isn't even close.

What is everyone's obsession with trading Yabusele?

Beyond his scoring, one overlooked aspect of Monroe’s presence is his rebounding ability. With his size he won’t be pushed around by the Thompsons, Loves, and Valucianas-types of the world, who all have given us significant problems in the past.
