Boston had a very good offseason, but it certainly could have been a lot better.  George is a difference maker on this team, instead Boston let him go to another team for what was basically peanuts.
Well, it could have been worse -- at least we didn't offer max money to Glenn Rice Jr...

Yeah I think this is about right.

Getting Hayward was great and I don't think you can knock him too much for the Tatum selection at this point. But you do have to not me that they came into the offseason shooting for 2 stars and they came away with one while they watched 2 targets go for very reasonable prices to other teams.

You've got to see some penalty for that in their grade. Terrific job nonetheless.

I give them a pass on Butler, given Chicago wanted a pick in the draft (and thus the trade had to be made at or before the draft) and also other players.  So while Crowder, Smart, and 3 (as an example) is fine value for Butler in a vacuum, it would have made getting Hayward impossible.  A trade for George would not have made getting Hayward impossible, so I think there is some real blame on Boston not getting George.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

This is bizarre that could call it a bad offseason when they got Hayward. He was the best free agent to switch teams.
They're not calling it a bad offseason. Unless perhaps I've been sleeping on grade inflation and C suddenly became the new F.
They ranked the Cs 11th out of 14 offseasons.

You have been sleeping in grade inflation BTW

Who cares? At the end of the season, it's always Danny and the Celtics get the last laugh and teams who mindlessly spent their money regret their decision and already shopping the assets they acquired from said trades and signings.

It was terrible. We went from a chance at greatness to boxed in as an also-ran for the forseeable future.

I give it an F.
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

You've seen Hayward play in the playoffs last year and seen how good Tatum looks and you've given our offseason an F?

Hmm.

He prefers to be a team like the Nets.

I will agree with one thing we could have gotten george and built a superteam in the east. BUT seeing how much they had to go through just to sign Hayward it makes sense that they wanted to wait until he signed to pull the trigger on a trade. Would you want to throw away assrts for a 1 year rental? The addition of hayward meant a greater change george would stay.

And you only are dissapointed with trading #1 if you think fultz is that much better than tatum. But tatum looks like he could be the best player in the draft or pretty even with fultz. And if we get a top 5 pick out of it next year? Its a good trade.

Overall you cont complain about an offseason that netted you a big fish in hayward and what looks to be a superstar in the making in tatum

I think he just wants to make outlandishly stupid comments in order to provoke a response. Whatever  ::)
