Here's the actual bright side:

If Cousins can go for Hield and an okay, but not great first, the asking prices for George and Butler have to lower, right?  Because what Chicago wants for Butler is triple what New Orleans paid for DMC.

Well, I think Ainge and Brad didn't want him potentially messing everything up. That's the main point I think and I understand.

I wouldve taken the risks still though.

Yeah, I would have hated to see our non-contender disrupted.

Stay the course. This may not be our year, but the '20's may be our decade.

Let's give our organization the benefit of the doubt. If Brad didn't want him in the locker room, and I'm sure they talked to IT4 about him, I'm sure they had good reason to not give up on their assets.

I wouldn't fault a team for believing in their highest draft pick in 20 years and their top pick in a loaded draft the next two seasons.

Cousins is a good talent. But, he's shooting 45% with 4 turnovers a game on a team that hasn't made the playoffs since he arrived there. He is a nuisance in the locker room, constantly picks up technicals, and basically loses as many games with his temper/actions/suspensions as he wins with his talent.

I like him and wish we got him. But I'll trust the organization that built our treasure chest to not unload it on someone they didn't love.

Gosh, I hate to be that guy, but we're never going to unload it. #keepallourpicksandassetsforever

At least they're on the West Coast. Let GSW try and deal with that ungodly frontcourt..

Unless Cousins' reputation reduced his value lower than Butler's and George's around the league...

I wonder if Davis gave New Orleans an ultimatum to find him help or he wants out. They've been awfully aggressive in the past couple of weeks.

What kills me is the timing of this. It seems like this just popped up out of the blue in the last couple of days, and they made a franchise-altering trade on a whim. I wonder if Vlade and the other owners just really wanted to push through a trade when Vivek was actually in a "mood" where he'd trade Cousins lol

Danny saw the opportunity to draft another athletic guard that can't shoot, and he couldn't afford to rock the boat. He owed it to the fans to keep the streak going.

Aldridge says it's both the 2017 and 2019 1sts. A little less slanted with some implosion insurance for the Kings, if true.

Those that are okay with not being in the discussions, need to take off the homer glasses.

I would trade one of any of the 15 players on this roster, plus the brooklyn pick for Demarcus.

Attitude aside, no one on this team has the POTENTIAL to be a top 5 talent in the league; while people agree unanimously that Cousins is.

This is not a good day.

Who is he exactly? A guy who puts up huge raw stats on bad teams? Most who know him say he can't be a leader, and thus why Sacramento has been such a failure with him and ultimately decided to deal him for half what he's worth.

Lakers reportedly refused to include Ingram. Celtics wouldn't give up too much. Fans aren't GM's for a reason. They have inside info, we have twitter "leaks."

I wanted him, and this hurts a bit, but nothing like not getting KD. That would have been for nothing and he's a good character guy. This would have cost us something substantial and he's a malcontent.

The picks are going to be in the late teen-20's. I don't see how they consider that value.

Yeah, the guys who've built a 48 win playoff team clearly don't understand basketball as some guys on a message board.

I'm listening to some doofus on ESPN just flat out blame the Kings for everything and actually compared the Pelicans to Golden State.  Words fail me.

It's hard to see a Butler trade happening now after this. If the return isn't going to be anywhere near where they want it to be, then I'm not sure they actually go that route now. Also, the fact that this happened so quick hurts us, too, because now there's not even really an appearance of another team out there seriously in play for the Brooklyn pick with a star.

They'll eat that backcourt alive though.  Don't get this for either team.

I think what's being overlooked here is that his agent said that he will NOT be signing an extension with whomever he's traded to.
