We play Philly tomorrow. I dont suspect this means anything.
He was told not to go with the team to Charlotte on the team plane for their last game and it would be pretty weird to send him by himself a day early to Boston for a game he wont play in.
It makes plenty of sense.
Philly is near a trade so they keep him home. Philly team flies to Charlotte. Talks break down. Philly must now fly to Boston. Okafor is still in Philly, so he must fly to Boston by himself.
I would be pretty surprised if they make him fly to Boston for one game prior to the all-star break after he has said his good byes to the team staff and members of the organization thanked him. Obviously anything can happen because this whole situation has been bungled. However, you certainly can't act like any of this is standard operating procedure. He may be rejoining the team after they said they were holding him out for trades and he said good bye to everyone and make him arrive earlier than the rest of the team.
They also could have traded him to a team that has the most assets in the league.
I'm honestly not sure which one is more likely/unlikely at this point.
