The kid is garbage!  He's indecisive and passive.  He is another Jeff green without the shot!  Great waste of #3 pick Danny.  And for all well he's only 19 apologists...Devon Booker says hi.

Danny only gets a draft pass because he got a steal with Nader and bentyl

"Passive" is not how I'd describe Brown.

And, why do you prefer Bender over Brown?

Did I say I preferred Bender over Brown?  And he is passive.  Because he drives to the lane once and awhile doesn't make him aggressive.  He's not looking to take over the game or rise above the other players.

Sorry to interrupt...I was/am in the Bender camp even though I'm okay with the Brown pick.

Even though Bender didn't look all great last night what he does do is extend the defense. His long reach makes it difficult for guards to get off shots. Adding Chriss to the picture extends the defense even more. The downside to Bender is that there were numerous easy baskets scored on him with players driving by him or him getting muscled out of the action.

On offense his shot didn't drop at all. Yet, he seems to be a fairly good facilitator. I believe Brown may turn out to be the better player. We'll have to wait a few years to find out how it all turns out.

at the age of 19, Brown is playing exactly how I would assume a kid would play. He is trying to showcase his skill very early on but very wild at times. His athleticism is there, but his decision making is not.

His handles are pretty nice, but he seems to want to play with a full steam all of the time. He needs to slow down a bit and let the game come to him. He either trips or runs someone over. I like the aggressiveness but with his current status, he will either get called for charges or just turn the ball over a lot. This is why I think he is playing about 15-20 minutes early on but nothing more behind Crowder. He isn't ready to commit a lot of minutes to yet. With that said, I still stand by my statement that I love the pick because I think athletic explosive wings are rare in the league. Everyone wants a shooter guard or a big man, but this is just me personally, I love a SF that can slash. He can do exactly that but just could not finish. He is far from a finish product and needs time to develop. My general rule of thumb is 2-3 years. I do not think we are ready to content yet anyways until 4-5 years down the line, so HOPEFULLY, by then he and Smart can both somehow develop somewhat of an offense. If both can stay relatively healthy for the next few years, I can see that happen.

Brown in my honest opinion is probably already a better offensive player than Smart was coming out his first year, so I am going to stay optimistic for the time being and being patient. Besides it's only summer league, us losing 2 games in a row is the least of my worries. Simmons has a bad game his first game but he was playing injured. Same could be said about Brown. And last time I checked, a hyper-extended knee is probably worse than calf cramps.

Which is disappointing, especially given his proclamations of tearing other peoples' heads off.

No. All the way around.  Hell James young had a better summer league 3 years ago.  19 year old Devon Booker is an all rookie player.  The #3 draft pick should not be getting outplayed for 3 games by the next 40 guys picked after him.  He has no clue how to play and has gotten by with his "athleticsm". Hell in athletic but that doesn't mean I can play on an NBA level.

The fans get ripped on here about calling out ainge but some responsibility needs to be held for ainge and that group.  If your so worried about planning for the future I'm sure another athletic sit back and do nothing guy will come around in a few years.  Develop Nader and send brown to another team

It's Devin Booker.

I also have no idea what he has to do with anything. He is a second-year player and wasn't available when we were drafting. The guy we got in that draft isn't doing too shabby in SL play too.

Right now Brown is Tony Allen.
When Bradley came in all he could to was defend for the first two years, he couldn't hit a shot.
Then the light went on.

fair enough, personally I'll be patient for him, if he still doesn't pan out in 2-3 years, I'll say Danny blown the pick. I won't judge him this early on just yet. I rather see how he develops. If he somehow gets packaged to get traded for a star player then sure, but if  he doesn't get traded, I'll continue cheering for him until he gets traded or he just somehow makes me hate him like Young does

Who knew booker would be this decent?

Brown is still a better defender. Booker better on the offensive end for now

Still not sure what Booker has to do with anything. He wasn't available to us, and Ainge has picked multiple "Devin Bookers" over his drafting career (first-team all-defense G Avery Bradley says hello).

Yea next time edit ur post instead of trying to play spelling police on the Internet.  All I hear are excuses. By this is typical of people that are too afraid to aknowledge the truth.  Brown might very well develop, but based off what we've seen in SL and compared to everyone else drafted after him and previous 19 year olds that people want to use as an excuse...he sucks and was a bad pick.

Sad thing is these are the same people with the same excuse for guys like Jeff green and James young.  Danny ainge, building medicrity one terrible decision at a time.
