Sorry everyone but it looks like Jaylen Brown is straight up trash. Can't shoot, overrated defender, falls for pump fakes. Out of control, turnovers, can't pass.

Danny Ainge is a buffoon. Could have gotten Butler by drafting Dunn, or kept him. Instead we are stuck with a homeless man's Gerald Wallace.

Let's trade Brown for a cheap backup veteran right now before he is worth Doritos.

i wish the c's would run more plays for him. he's out there lookin like he wasnt selected #3 in the draft.

Summer League is not a place where you're going to see a lot of double screens and passing to cutters on the baseline.

That's the one thing I'll say -- in a real NBA game Jaylen might look a bit better surrounded by guys who can space the floor, with plays called specifically to get him good looks.  Right now he clearly doesn't have the skills or the confidence to create good shots for himself or others, and he looks lost operating off the ball in an environment where everybody is kind of just reacting to what the ballhandler does, not running a system or anything.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

I have a policy of defending all Celtic players' performance on the court unless they're over the arbitrary age of 25. As such, I will continue to ignore my initial misgivings about Brown and trust that Ainge, Stevens and the staff saw something I can't. Even if what I see on the court at times affirms my worries.

James Young is having a better summer league.   And that's about as negative as it can get.  :o

Brown DOES Suck....I cannot believe Ainge has Completely BLOWN the first 2 Brooklyn Picks.

I am not joking either...Brown is Worse the Kedrick Brown. PLEASE for the love of God, get Philly to take him for Okafor. The rest of the League is probably laughing their butts off at Ainge for taking this guy.

San Antonio got a better actual Basketball player with the 29th pick.

Never get emotional when discussing possible transaction deals with another team. It's his first year, relax. Kobe looked like crap his first year too. You nor I truly know what this kid will turn into. All I know is his physical god gifted tools give him a high ceiling. So be patient and let the coach work with this kid.

Just remember his age and experience.

he's incredibly smart with a Russell westbrook level of athleticism at 19 years old.
To see a 19 year old attack the rim and look to score at the rim like he does is a very promising sign.

Right now I'm seeing this kids FLOOR as Demar DeRozan with defense. if he can pick up a good stroke by his 3rd or 4th year, we'll have a perennial All Star on our hands.

Already you can see his defensive toughness and versatility. He's also a lot better off the dribble than I expected.

This type of bbal in summer league is very fast and very unorganized. Jaylen will benefit with NBA shooters around him and an open NBA court in transition.
I'm very happy with what i've see so far, even if it's been 20 minutes of summer league action with a sore knee.

Umm, this was Demar Derozan at 19 -

As of right now, the only thing Brown has in common with Derozan, imo, is height, lol, because he has none of the skills that Demar displayed in this outing, imo.

Wow. LOT_OF_ACTION.  He was a beast -- I'd be overjoyed if Brown became a clone of DeRozan... or even Iguodala for that matter.

Jaylen brown reminds me a lot of Harrison Barnes. Meh.

But Barnes can shoot, though.  Even in college, his career average from downtown was .349, as opposed to .294, and on more attempts, as well.  The only thing they have in common, imo, is that neither guy can dribble, lol ;D. Ugh.

And in Barnes' defense, he went to a great school.

I wasn't yet a fan during that time, so I've only been able to find this of Kedrick Brown on Youtube -

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h6Lor0CwwTE

Unfortunately, after watching Jaylen Brown for three games, I think it's safe to say that had Jaylen attempted Kedrick's dunk, he likely would have missed it, lma0.  Ugh.  I'm not going to give up on the kid, but this looks bad, like Gigli bad, right now, lol ;D.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
you can't judge these guys from this horrible, pointless, injury risk of a league.

guys are playing to feed their families out here.

idiots like marcus Thornton are chucking literally every time they get the ball.

Brown is desperate to prove himself as a top pick now. he's only 19 and he can't help himself- it's a winners/ego thing and hes trying too hard right now.

After a few months on the road the game will start to slow down and he'll be fine.

I am very excited about his willingness to attack the rim and his handle in 1v1 situations is better than I thought. He's going to be a serious problem for opposing teams to guard. If they stick a 3 on him he'll back em down or blow by. If they stick a 4 he'll blow by every time.

Just a brute gorilla of a being. After 4 years in an NBA weight room he's going to kill people.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.
