for what it is worth, since 1993, the #3 team in the lottery has won the number pick more times than picks #1, 2, and 4 combined.

here's hoping this fabulous trend continues.  ;D
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

--> very happy to see Brooklyn solely in 3rd with 1 game left.  I'll slit my wrists if I jinx this but the odds are pretty high that Brooklyn wins while Phx loses their last games.  looking like #3 is a lock pre-lotttery.

I think it's the other way around. ;)

I'm thinking it climbs past 3 in the lottery.   don't know why, just have a gut feeling.  other years I've just been hopeful they get lucky but for some reason this year I just feel it's going to happen.

update for games that impact us going into the last game of the season --.

Miami has beaten Detroit.  The standings are now Miami and Atlanta 1 game ahead of the C's both fighting for 3rd.  Charlotte and Boston are tied for 5th.

Miami and Boston play each other tomorrow in Boston.  Charlotte has Orlando in Charlotte and Atlanta has Washington in Washington.

My expectations for tomorrow:
-Charlotte has the easiest game -- I think they take the win by 9.
-Atlanta is on the road but Washington has been lackluster this year.  with 3rd see on the line to avoid Cleveland, I think Atlanta comes out swinging and takes the game by 11.
-Miami/Boston.  My gut says that Miami's experience wins out in the end despite playing on the road for the second night in a row.  Boston's horrible efforts the last 2 games don't instill any confidence that they'll take this game from Miami --> only shot I think Boston has at this is if Miami is just out of gas and plays like crap.

Hope I'm wrong.

Miami's not a good road team, I think the Celtics should get the edge.

but they're a solid veteran team and just won tonight on the road against a good Detroit team

looking at the other pick we own - Dallas -- not optimistic about that one improving tonight.
Dallas and Memphis are tied for 6th spot.
Dallas at home against SAS who will likely rest players and Memphis playing at GSW trying to set the season record.

Portland's a game up on Dallas and at least they're playing Denver at home.  should be a win to stay in 5th.

Why so pessimistic about Miami?! We've had their number all year. And we played badly vs Charlotte, but against the Hawks on the road we actually played pretty well, they just shot the lights out on contested 3's. C's will be solid favorites to beat Miami at home.

If Brooklyn wins against a resting Toronto team and Phoenix loses, I believe it'll go to a coin toss and we have not been blessed in coin tosses

even resting, Toronto still has more talent than Brooklyn while they're sitting Brook and Thad

So final positioning is 3rd in lotto and picks 17 and 22. If that lotto position is a top two, I could care less where the other picks are. Heck, I bet the C's trade them away if we get a top 2 pick. Would only need one rookie next  year anyway.
